Lucas? Nope. He’s only in the team because he’s a Jose favorite. If it were on merit, Lucas wouldnt be near the 18 as he offers absolutely nothing besides industry.
Even with Lucas’ insane goal drought he’s scored more goals since he got here than Dele.

As Dele didn't even travel as the 19th man today speculation will only increase this next week almost regardless of whether he plays midweek or not.

And it's not like Jose is assuring he'll stay

The thing is though that if he had dropped N'Dombele out of the squad today, there would be questions about that. Winks? sure there would be questions there too.

so Lucas works his nuts off, which is a trait Jose loves and Dele, doesn’t .... unfair to say it’s because he’s a Favourite. He works his balls off. Dele is a passenger at times. That’s why.

For too long Dele was getting picked every week regardless of the sub par performances he was putting in. He also managed to avoid getting hooked regardless of some really poor performances. This all leads to complacency and now he’s facing up to not getting picked, and getting dragged, his temperament is being tested and from what I read into the situation his reaction hasn’t been enough to win the manager over.
As someone said earlier, he’s had plenty of opportunities under Jose, but other than an early purple patch he’s reverted to being a luxury and a bit of a passenger in terms of how we know want to play.

Dele like many others suffered from the lack of competition and too many intense games early in their careers.

Disagree with the "Dele has always had a price" talk. Poch loved him and would never want to sell him. He was the main man alongside Kane for the 15/16, 16/17, and 17/18 seasons [at the minimum].

I’ll be gutted if he’s sold the lad had the world at his feet 3 years ago, on the amazon thing Jose spoke to him about not having regrets at the end of his career.
Fortunately for us I can’t see anybody coming up with the money, at his best he’s a top class player.

I doubt he'll go now with Son injured. I also think that today he may well have got a goal or two had he been on the field.
