Even if things weren’t coming off, I though the boy battled his bloody heart out today.

Must be why this thread hasn’t been getting any post match activity...

Funny yet you don't seem to hear from you after he plays shite?

He was terrible first half and done well second half, however he still managed to over hit a ball to Lucas on the break which would have been a great opportunity to make it 2-1 but I will allow that one....see his haters can be fair!

I think you’ll find me constantly discussing him, and providing a non knee jerk perspective, when he plays ‘shite’. Easy to lose those posts in the sea of vile anti Dele rhetoric from those who love to see him fail though.

And I don’t actually think he played well, I just think that he gave everything for the side in a thankless role. But I know how a caveated praising of his attitude can be easily conflated with over the top blind praise, so I forgive you.

I’d also love to know what your post said pre edit.

Pre edit...I put two ands in a sentence instead of one so deleted it when I saw my error....is that okay?

Not a great first half but what do you expect him to do, not his position, lack of support. Much better second half, those wanting rid will only realise what they had once he’s gone

He most definitely did. The issue I have with Alli is mostly his technical ability, I feel he thinks he’s better than he actually is from a creative point of view. By far his biggest strength is drifting into pockets of space in the final third to finish opportunities, he’s shown that countless times. It’s when he’s actually involved in the buildup that his deficiencies, technical limitations and lack of pace are exposed.

It pains me to say it, but I’m coming to believe that he’s a bit of a one trick pony, in that he can be effective in one particular system and one only. I don’t see a player that will take a game by the scruff of the neck and dominate it. He’ll turn up for big games, but only if the way we play suits that one particular skill set he has.

I hate to say this, but I would seriously consider selling him on for a big fee and look to use the funds elsewhere.

He puts in the hard yards every week, some
Weeks great, some weeks awful but i always feel he is judged a lot more harshly than any of our other players.

He needs a number 9 working alongside him. But without Son and Kane, it seems that he really is the best possible solution in the false 9 position. At least he is able to retain some balls and draws some defenders with him. Can't see anything change until one of the Son/Kane back

I hope people watched his post match interview. That's a sincere Tottenham player who wants to turn this around.

Today he played well given the shower of shit performance in the end, but he apologised to the fans for the team performance and point blank refused to accept players injured as an excuse for the performance. If only Mourinho would actually believe in the team and build their confidence up instead of shooting it down constantly

He worked his socks off today

He obviously cares and worked hard enough. He has a thankless task on his hands playing up front - constantly battling and chasing
