It's things like that which really annoys me about Alli, and he isn't the only one either.
Finally someone says it. He isn't the only one. You could look at any of our players and criticise this or that about how they are playing. Only for some reason, a (vocal) minority have it in for him big time and some of the abuse he gets is cringeworthy.

I would suggest that pretty much none of our more established players are performing to the standard previously set, there has surely got to be an underlying reason for that.

My worry with Alli is that he's been not only a shadow of himself for two seasons now but on a consistent downward trajectory with the exception of his short uptick in form when Jose arrived.

I like him but the current Alli can definitely be improved upon and he's one of the few that we'd get a good fee for that we wouldn't miss too badly so I'd probably sell him in the summer.

Thing is, if he improves his decision making and start doing the basic things right again he's easily a worldie and if he recaptures that form somewhere else we'd probably never forgive ourselves for letting such an asset go.

The problem we have currently is that all 3 of Son, Alli and Lucas are guilty of missing chances but even worse than that constantly losing possession and failing to release the ball quickly enough. Between the 3 of them we must be having so many turnovers.

What is this? Are we knocking it on? Fumbling?

His movement was good yesterday and had some nice moments but his finishing has been woeful. He needs to realise without Kane he needs to retain possession better. You can't be flicking it away constantly when nobody else can hold it up.

I wonder if we do excersises that's based around desision making when counter attacking. Looking at how many times we break 2v3 and 3v3 and don't even get a shot off is infuriating.

People forget the week he's just had too with that self inflicted video and apparently he was also mugged or something.

If we had an alternative to him I would of thought Mourinho might of given him a break this weekend, but we don't. That's part of the problem I feel.

Anyway, hopefully he's saving his goals for Wednesday. We'll need them then.

When all you do is play football all day, why is it so difficult to work on your weak foot? Its not that hard and I don't understand how as a professional footballer you can't use your weak foot.

It's things like that which really annoys me about Alli, and he isn't the only one either.
There were a number of incidents yesterday in the PL where a really good scoring opportunity was missed because the shot or pass was a poncey lame flick with the outside of the boot.
I can kick with both feet and I was a pub player (equally shit with both feet lol). Not naturally 2 footed but practiced just ball off the wall.
It limits your choices so much not being comfortable kicking with both feet.
If I stepped up to take a pen I'd honestly be thinking about which foot to use so I really dont get it.
I think they can but for some reason choose not too which is even worse.
Annoying whatever the reason.
I think some foreign countries, Brazil etc, focus far more on being 2 footed than European players and everyone focuses on it more than British players lol.

After most matches this year, there has been a frenzy of posts on this board by many, me included, who appear to voice their absolute frustration towards Alli. My worry is that with the small window when Mourinho arrived , his performances have been way below his initial standards and way below standards this club requires to maintain a robust challenge on the top 4.
We are at a crossroads with Alli, who, is capable of the sublime, but more recently invisible and passenger like. His movement and runs are clever, but we need more. I'm not too sure if Mourinho and the club will sit down and in the summer and think, that maybe it's time we moved him on, or do they believe he can be counted on to deliver more. In his defence, his first 1-2 seasons, he was in a top draw team, who could create for him and cover for him. The current team is below that level and players are more visible for their lack of contribution, which magnifies his poor general play

It drives me made!!!

I'm a Sunday league player and right footed. I can shoot just as good with my left foot, take corners with my left, cross etc. And I only play once a week.

If you have a weakness in your game, work on it ffs. That's what I like about Kane and Son. They can shoot with either foot no issues at all.

Like I said Dele isn't the only culprit here, but it's just basics of the game for me and amazes me that there are "professionals" that can't use their weak foot. Unless you're as good as Maradona, practice!!

We were taught to use our 'wrong' foot
all the time in training.
Kicking and passing
with your 'good 'foot'
was often banned.
and I did this when coaching my grandkids.
and various school teams
In the 50's

I did once score a penalty
on Hackney Marshes
with my wrong un
But that was against the fattest
and most immobile Keeper
you ever saw.

It's like running round to hit
with your forehand
in tennis.
because you never mastered backhand
It so limits your play

Actually thought he was slightly better yesterday. However, if I was England manager he wouldn’t be anywhere near team for the Euros. There are just so many better options

I too thought he played OK yesterday & Jose had him playing more as a CF for most of the game. He had quite a few chances & if he had shown Greaves style composure in front of goal he could have had 2 or 3 goals & we'd be having a different discussion.

I've been massively on Dele's back lately but yesterday was actually one of his better games.

Still needs too many touches. Still too one-footed.

Where's this slim-shady?

Completely agree and ram the message down both my lads throats that being two footed makes the game alot easier.

I still love the story about Gael Clichy. He was right footed but his dad banned him from playing with it at the age of 7 and would even disallow goals if he scored with his right. He took it to that extreme that he turned Gael in to a left footed player as he knew only 25 per cent of professional players are left footed. I heard a similar story with Morten Gamst Petersen.

We all see things like films and TV programmes and football players differently .
Dele at the moment because Kane is not playing is targeted as a danger by the opposition along with Son .
When Kane is back the pressure on him will be lessened and he will have a bit more freedom to produce as Kane will be the main target for opposing teams . For myself I see a committed whole hearted player that is suffering from being under the utmost pressure from the teams we play . You would think that he was some kind of ogre the way some talk about him I just don't get what comes across as hate almost .

Both Son & Lucas get ripped for it as well. I'd say plenty on here would happily sell off Lucas in the Summer, its clear he shouldn't be a starter for the club. Son is getting plenty of heat as well but he's scoring and has been a much better player than Dele over the past several years. For Son it feels like he's out of form. This just feels like the player that Dele is and has been for a few years now.
