Getting to the point now where if I see that's he's starting it's just gonna really piss me off before a ball is even kicked.

It's a crime that he's an automatic starter at the moment.

If he'd just stop *always* trying to go for the fancy bollocks option and just play football I'd have a bit more time for him.

Mourinho made it sound like he's absolutely a nailed-on starter a couple of weeks ago (paraphrasing but a couple of rhetorical questions like "is Kane my #9? is Dele my #10?"). I thought the problem with the manager having favourites would be gone with Poch and the slate would be wiped clean because Dele's not putting in performances that justify being on the pitch recently.

He won't be leaving, he's been found out and his ego won't let him drop a level. He's been told he can play for Barcelona and Real Madrid, so he'll wait for them.

On his day he is brilliant, but it seems like he was playing better when Jose came in and he was trying to cement himself in the starting 11. His play has become complacent, needs some competition for his place to up his game.

Dele is a serious weapon in transition. We all know he's best making runs in behind defences and he's got a natural goalscoring instinct when he's in and around the box. However, it's so frustrating when you see him play so deep in the buildup like he did today. He doesn't have the guile, agility or vision that a 10 like David Silva or Ozil does and hence is pretty laborious when there is no space ahead of him to exploit against a low block. He's like a Muller for me, he needs to be up where Kane is like a second striker. Due to his limitations, it's pretty clear that we need another creative offensive midfielder or Lo Celso has to step up as the primary creator because against PTB Dele often doesn't hack it.

Just like Eriksen he will be waiting a long time

Unfortunately it seems Dele is one of Jose’s favourites. Mad really. How can such a poor player be an automatic starter? I’m starting to get worried about Jose already. I have a feeling Alli will always get picked and we will all suffer as a result. If Jose doesn’t recognise this he is doomed to fail here.

I think it’s time we faced up to the possibility that he’s not that good. He’s a player who we should be improving on, not building the team around.
On his day, he’s a decent forward who is dangerous in the box. But he’s not a creative force, nor a technician. He’s actually fairly limited as a player especially when things around him are difficult; he rarely alters or controls the tempo of a game. He’s still young and can definitely add to his game but he seriously needs competition; when he’s sluggish, which is relatively frequent, he limits us as a team

Spurs should have sold him in after the 17/18 season and got all the money for him ...

I don't really get the wailing to be honest. This was a standard Alli performance in central midfield. He's slow, he takes too many touches and an age to make up his mind, what he then does do is basic, if it's not basic it's a stupid flick or low percentage and forcing the play, and his movement isn't great, either goes very deep or very wide. He offers nothing from the position, at all.

Today was what we always see from him in central midfield. He isn't a midfielder, in a cm2, or a cm3, he should never play there. Quite frankly you do not want him getting on the ball at all unless it's in the oppositions penalty area.

Without Kane really he should be played as the Number 9 if anywhere.

If I can see this from my armchair, I'd expect professional football managers to be able to work it out.........

In Kane’s absence, he should play in the number 9 position so our more creative, technical players can create chances for him

Dele has loads of potential that he could quite easily fulfill. But he's simply not cutting it at the moment and should be dropped from the line up.

He's not one I'd sell; there wouldn't be a takers for him anyways at the price Levy would value at.

He's got to take a long hard look at himself.

He wouldn't be able to drift around catching defenders by surprise if he had to keep our shape. Squared up against a defender Kane is excellent but Dele's useless. Would he be worth playing up there just for finishing? At least Lucas can threaten to go past them.
