When you set up with seven defensively minded players against a league team there's the problem not Dele Alli

You can look at it like that but at the same time when you watch him play he he miles off the player that he was a few years ago. Taking too many touches, taking an age to decide what he wants to do etc...this isn't a new thing by the way it's been going on for months. His regression resembles exactly how we're playing.

He been injured for a good part of the last few months. Played alright in the champions League semi though.

Even at his best he would drift in and out of games but he would then pop up with a moment of magic. The palace game with his wonder goal was a prime example of this. When he delivers neither goals or assists he gives us nothing.

Have to be honest in saying I haven't enjoyed watching Dele play for a long long time. Even in some periods where he did have more of a return in terms of goals and assists I haven't liked watching him. It may be very difficult for him if Poch doesn't favour him in selection as he's not the type of player to come off the bench and make an impact.

His slowness on the ball is incredibly irritating too. Would love to see him get a couple of goals though to maybe boost his confidence but one thing he does have going for him is that we maybe shouldn't make full judgment until the whole team is playing well again.

Dele needs to get a couple of assists and goals and he will start to find himself again. Right now he looks like a shadow of the player he was.

No doubt his head isn’t in it right now, for whatever the many reasons that may be.

Dele remains one of my favourite players of the last few years. The worry is that he has played carrying injuries and so is not free in his mind even if now fit again. He is a player who complements the likes of Kane and Eriksen yet with us so out of form it's hard for him to get his confidence back. Let's hope the answer is just getting match fit

Pulled his quad in the world cup, came back after a week - please tell me a pulled muscle that heals completely after a week.

Then 4 consecutive (bad) hamstring injuries, but instead of being able to give him rest to recover from them properly, we had to rush him back and played him into the ground -- often in a box to box role which requires the most amount of physical exertion -- due to a lack of options in midfield, exacerbated by the sale of Dembele.

Now he just looks completely devoid of physical sharpness, the burst into the box has gone, he's one paced and easily marked. He was never the quickest but he had a little bit of acceleration in tight spaces. All gone. In short - we've fucked him by overplaying him due to lack of midfield alternatives.

We're allowed to criticise performances without it being because the player is a scapegoat. So fucking annoying when people try to invalidate other people's opinions by making out they're scapegoating - they're not. Dele was steaming dog-shit yesterday against league two opposition. He was sulking about passes not coming to him when he was in bad positions, finished woefully each time he had a chance, didn't pick passes when they were clearly in front of him.

Needs to focus on football and not his fucking horrendous clothing line.
Obviously I'm not a fashionista like you because I didn't know he had a clothing line. Maybe a bit of retail therapy might be in order to get your blood pressure down. He had a poor game but he was not the worst player on the pitch. He has been injured is it his second game of the season.

Nothing to do with being a fashionista - it's to do with having this "Internet" thing.

I don't care if it was his second game back - Colchester are 10th in League Two. Looking out of his depth against them is embarrassing. I actually blame Poch for his awful form, but to deny Dele has been absolutely atrocious lately (pre-injury too) is bollocks.
He was out of his depth yesterday evening okay I must have been watching a different match to you obviously. He didn't play well but out of his depth?

Ok we get you need a scapegoat now Trippier has gone.

fucking hell just because you can't see he's not the player he was does not mean that people that can see this are making him a scapegoat. And a scapegoat for what exactly?

Sorry I'm sure you can post without swearing. A scapegoat for yesterday's evening's defeat. He described his performance as steaming dog shite.
I am not denying his form has not been great but I'd give him the benefit of the doubt until he's fully fit.
