Biggest question is would any of you take him back in the summer on a free.
Realistically he's been away for so long now that you can't expect him to be at the level of a club that wants to challenge at the top.

But I can see him at Palace if they sell Eze, for example. Think that role might suit him well.

I would love Ange to at least have a chat with him to see where he’s at mentally, if he’s really got the desire, hunger and most importantly the love of the game back.

If he does then a one year deal similar to what Eriksen got with brentford would be best for all sides,
this would be an opportunity for him to prove him self in a familiar surroundings with fans that still adores him and the club will be getting a player to compete with Maddison, who’s free, home grown and club trained.

This is a gamble nonetheless but a gamble with huge upsides if he recapture he’s form and very little downside as in the most it’s going to cost is a year’s wage which comes with added publicity that we will always take care one of our own.

With where we want to be next season, we can't afford to be taking a chance like that.
It would be lovely but if it doesn't work, we've wasted an important squad space.
He struggled at Everton not long ago, he needs to prove himself at a lower lever than we are aiming to be.

Well if he’s taking up one of the 17 non HG spots then I agree but he’s not, we will need more CT players for European competitions and if we are even thinking of letting skipp leave then dele in the team actually solves some of that problem for us. We can’t magically create CT players to fill the spot so it’s going to be left open or filled with players that’s not going to play anyway.

For me, it's just too much of a gamble because he hasn't played well for years now and I'd rather that place be used for our youngsters like Donley or even Moore.
I'd love to see Dele back and playing well but we're not a rehab centre.

And also, what would Dele want? A squad role at a big club or a hopefully starting role at a smaller club?

Given his 2026 hope, I'd wager that he just wants to play as much football as possible and he is very unlikely to get that at Spurs.

That’s the thing, we can’t fill the CT spots with players under 21.

That’s true, if he’s looking for as much playing time as possible then we may not be the best option for him.

But as @Marty says, how much would Dele play if he came to us?
And how would him being here affect the progress of our youngsters?

If he wants to get back and prove himself, he needs to be playing as much as he can and he's not going to get that with us.

Love Dele to bits, but he needs to move forward not backward. Whoever earlier on said Palace is a decent shout - plenty of minutes in that side for him.

I'd love him to get back that needle he had, winding people up, getting in people's faces - I think that going was all part of him losing his way.

My image if a photo of a boot I got from Dele back in the day. Loved the guy when he first came to us.
As others above have said he says he wants to play- for me he'll to drop down a level to become one of the big players in a smaller club. Maybe a Championship side first, then if he returns to form the rest will take care of its self. Hoping he has the off-field support to help him now where ever he ends up.

We are a hotel, concert venue and go karting place so why not embed a Rehab center into it!

With the question having been asked, yes I would have him at Spurs on a free (pending an Ange chat).

there are HG and CT supporting factors. I suspect we are selling Skipp, Spence, Rodon probably others. Presumably that has some impact.

but realistically I’m just a fan. I love that guy. He’s had a tough time, he could get minutes and games if we are in Europe and take the cups seriously even before the potential he finds form. It’s an emotional decision to gamble, and I appreciate he may be better served at, say, Brentford or Bournemouth. But goddamn it. I would take him, and when he scores at home, there won’t be a dry eye in the house. As a fan, I would love it.

Think he should look at Barkley as an example. Ross was someone who went to Chelsea and things seemed to fall apart and looked like he wouldn't recover from it. Then he went to Luton and got his mojo back. Similar move for Dele would do him good (not Luton necessarily).
