6 months ago people on here were saying he ain’t good enough. Now they want to build a team around him .

fickle life of a football fan I guess . He certainly has the strength and heart of a lion . Definitely upped his game this season and led by example.

I feel that's disingenuous. Here's my post on him from the summer:

I’d be really disappointed if we can’t find a place for him. There’s so much ability, work rate and personality there.

When in the final third with players back, he’s the one I have most belief in to find a way through.

I genuinely think the only thing we need to do is find a way to counter where he isn’t the player receiving it on the halfway line and slowing everything down.

Like many, I did worry if Ange could find a place for him in the team. He didn't have the pace to play on the wings when we were trying to counter quickly and he isn't a central play maker in the mould of a Maddison.

For myself and many it was a question of if he fit. For a period I felt he didn't and accepted we might sell but I always hoped we could find a place for him.

I'd give a stray vote to Gray.

Kulusevski has been our most consistently good player all season, but Gray deserves a mention for playing consistently well at nearly every position we put him in - at 18, with no previous PL experience.
In a back four that leaked 6 goals that’s quite a compliment

Has a winners mentality, sticks out massively in our squad compiled of mostly losers
Except 7-8 months ago he didn’t have the confidence to take any defenders on at all, and many on here would have sold him in the summer. Not everything is so clear cut.

Of course we do. Werner or Johnson can play wide. It's not like Maddison is any better.
I'm not sure that Werner or Johnson are either though.
Sadly, as much as he's better centrally, Deki is probably our most effective player out on the right and in Madders, at least we've got someone who can be decent through the middle.

We're scraping the bottom of the barrel at present and it's just a case of trying to put out the best team we can.
I think Deki wide and Madders central provides more than Deki central and Johnson or Werner out on the right, especially when it comes to creativity and ball retention.

I think its time:

Deki
Gray Sarr

Gray may not be ready - but I think that midfield gives us much more control with and without the ball. Bergvall should be more involved also - he has the kind of energy and tenaciousness that we need.
