I think he was struggling from about the 10th minute onwards yesterday. Didn't manage to find any sort of rhythm, and unfortunately it seems that if you nullify Deki we lose a lot of our creativity.

Ange was right to take him off, 1 more slightly late challenge and he was walking.

In retrospect I feel like Palace's entire game on Sunday was based around cutting off the supply to Deki, and he was getting massively frustrated because of this. Man City would have been way too arrogant to deploy this tactic, and because of that he got two assists and played wonderfully.

I just feel like we have a massive chance to win any game we can get Deki involved in. He is pure class.

He’s a Dembele / De Bruyne hybrid, so strong, plays in the pockets, can pass, can shoot, shakes players off. He can centrally become an absolute beast of a player.

The chemistry between him and Johnson shouldn’t be ignored either, they both know where they’re going to be. That back heel flick from Johnson that set him free for the first goal was great.

his movement to throw off his marker before he received the ball was amazing

Has been an absolute monster this season - two more assists last night.

Strength, hold up play, dribbling ability, passing and vision, intelligent positional play - he's becoming the complete central midfielder and it's a joy to watch.

If the player of the season award was tomorrow, he could turn up, punch every member of the team and support staff in the face and wipe his ass with an Ozzie flag....and still win

He's been amazing

There was a moment late in the second half that crystallised all that is good about him. He won the ball, carried it forward 30 yards and passed it on. At that point he looked for the first time completely spent. Then City attacked and he ran 40 yards back to defend. What an effort! What a player!
