Part of the problem there is who's been on the end of the chances though, he's creating more per 90 than Saka who has 5 assists in 6 games, more than Palmer too.

Once the quality of finish gets better on the end of passes the numbers will come. It'd be worse if he wasn't creating at all
Very true 👍🏼

He certainly should have had more assists based on how creative he's been so that's not on him, but he should score more goals and needs to add that to take him to the next level. I love the guy, think he makes us tick and is one of the first names on the team sheet so I'm not looking to criticise him, just think a few more goals wouldn't go amiss.

He’s been absolutely incredible. He really can do it all when he’s in this kind of form. He works like a demon, he offers some real strength in the carry through midfield, he can operate up top, or drop deeper, or get out wide and create width all while generating some really strong attacking stats. Ange has to be thrilled with him right now.

Magic in that deeper role. Never felt he suited Maddison's usual position, and his lack of acceleration out wide became an issue. His dribbling from deep is enormous, much better than Sarr's who played a similar role last year, whilst his endurance is just as good meaning he can get back and cover quickly. Some of his half turns are similar to what Bissouma did at the start of last season, but without the many deficiencies in Yves' game. Still love Pape and hope we can find a starting role for him somewhere, just feel he needs to be a bit stronger in the tackle.

Most chances created or key passes I think it was at Old Trafford from any away player since records began tracking that stat in 2003.

Like an attacking version of Dembele - strong as an ox on the ball, not lightning quick over 5 yards but over mid to long range is deceptively quick. Great vision.

Deki is great in the middle third, very good with a little room for improvement in the final third (but might be more of a team thing than individual development) - defensive third is where he does struggle, understandably. I guess the question is do we just not worry about that, and if we are up against a really good team we consider a more defensively minded player? Or go balls out, toe to toe, and other body part based analogies?

either way, Deki is a great player!

I don't get why they think we have a midfield problem. We all know our problem is with our wide players. Give us the wide options of the current top 4 and we are probably top of the league.

Quite possibly our player of the season thus far which ok is still 6 games deep but nevertheless, he's proved alot of people wrong in his pivotal role in Ange's system - including me!

The way Deki is playing, the quality and quantity of chances he creates and the shift he puts in, he's become undroppable.

If we really needed a more defensively minded midfielder I would sooner "rest" Maddison, that's how important Deki has become.

Was getting Dembele vibes yesterday from him in midfield, that physical strength & shielding of the ball. I think him and solanke collectively add so much to our ball retention. Great performance.
