He's,shown v little in the past year in any position bar CF. But Ange may have stumbled over something. Still a small sample size but really promising.

We all want him to succeed
It's a funny one too, because I'd love for him to be told to pore over footage of Firmino and to really start to mould his game after him.

But at the same time, other than his immense pressing, Firmino wasn't really what you'd classify as the usual Ange prototype of striker so who knows 😅

For now though I hope our striker list looks like:

1. Richy
2. Kulu
3. Lankshear
4. Son

Ok so Deki most likely starting up top against Leicester.

Good stuff.
He's strong, skillful, creative, regularly makes big chances as well as putting the ball in net himself. Honestly there are a lot of strikers out there who flatter to deceive but aren't half as effective as Kulusevski in the final third.

Him playing central means he doesn’t have to rely on cutting in every time and can take the ball and move quicker from a central position not slowing attacks down every time .

he also has the strength to bully defenders and with Richarlison unlikely to play 25 games I think he will be a useful option.

it also means son stays left win win !

We're heading into a season where we are challenging for four competitions. If all goes well and we do bring in Neto and Eze, it would be nice to know that we can lineup in the "lesser" games and tournaments with the likes of Kulu, Johnson and Werner.

Creating squad depth is about pushing last year's starters down the pecking order and being able to rely on players if injuries occur, which we of all teams should know after last season.

Ultimately it's up to Ange but I see a versatile, hard working player who has a role to play next season and can also help Bergvall to settle.

Nah, it's cheating to include the youngsters.
😉🤣
Ok, I’ll replace Bergval, Gray and Moore with Maddison, Johnson and Dragusin. 😄

Back to the original post though there’s plenty including Bentancur that could be successfully argued to stay rather than Kulu. As I said I like him and don’t want him sold but he’s definitely not one I’d keep over most other of our players. 😊

In a world where no9’s are getting worse and somehow more expensive, having someone like Deki who can play the role as a creator and physical presence whilst also pressing intensively and smartly, we may have fallen into something very good.

Agree and I think Son will benefit massively from that.

Think Son is going to have a huge season.

It will great to play him central but of course we do need to sign a right winger to allow that.

Just shows how desperate we are to sign a striker.

I like the player but it’s not his position. I thought we’d moved on from square pegs in round holes.

Have to say he has looked to be one of our more inventive players in preseason so far, with flicks and quick link up through the middle. Adds different dimension to the putting it out wide and crossing in (which is also a very valid and effective move). It’s good to see variation tho.
