Napoli are never gonna pay €50mil on Deki which is what we would want minimum considering what we paid for him.
Deki offers something different compared to our other wingers which is always a good asset to have in a squad.
Deki is versatile and as he has said in multiple interviews he preferred position is not a winger so can Ange find his best position in his system?
I think Ange likes him & I think he will be used in different positions this season but used more as a rotational player

PL clubs are going to have to get used to taking massive financial hits on selling players now that the market in the rest of Europe is getting increasingly less competitive.

As far as the club are concerned he is available for transfer. Along with numerous others he is not seen as part of the long term strategy.

Damn that's a real shame. I can understand why but still think he's a very good player and also seems like a good egg as well.
Only way I could see him actually going is in a swap deal as I can't see any very big club paying what we would demand unless maybe likes of hammers come in for him and he's willing to step down a level.

We should take anything over £30m IMO.

Hopefully Napoli have some cash to burn once the Osimhen deal goes through.

I like this take. I dont mind selling Kulu as long as we replace him well. Ange experimented with him in different postions and as things stand Kulu hasnt taken it.

It would be ironical if Chiesa replaces Kulu - afterall, Kulu lost his regular Juve place when Chiesa started replacing him

Agree and this falls very much into 'painful rebuild' territory but the rationale is sound.

Perhaps Wolves can be our get out here and by extension a deal with Neto - Wolves counter attacking style would suit Deki you feel and compensate for the loss of Neto adequately.

I understand it but did make me feel a little sad tbh. As he really dug us out of a hole when he and Bentancur came in. What will be, will be.

This is the right approach.

Does Ange want him and does he fit the system.

He may well be a good player (for another system), we might not get as much as we think he's worth, etc but letting that dictate our transfer policy is what's held us back. We need to be more ruthless in moving people on who don't fit.

Kulu out and Neto in makes so much sense on so many levels.
Also removes the potential overflow of wide players if we didn't move anyone on from the current squad, outside of the likes of Gil who barely troubled anyone for minuted anyway

And frees up an additional non-HG spot

I am not surprised at all if he has been made available as he is evidently a rather awkward fit for our system but I just don’t see anyone offering what we would want for him.

I'd be sad to see him go but I'd understand

Sums it up for me. I really like Kulu as a player, and think I'm the long term this is something we may regret, but in the short term he raises funds for players better suited to how we want to play now.

Ange seemed to really like/trust him.

Think he valued his work rate, on and off the ball.

But its pretty clear he doesnt have the skillset that Ange wants his wide men to really have.

If we sell him, then I could believe us getting us both Neto and Eze.

Would be a huge upgrade to the squad imo.

Given he's not a part of the plans, I wonder why we took up the option to buy him last summer. Did Ange need an entire season to assess? It could be difficult to recoup our outlay on him now unless we sell him to a Premier League club.

I’m sure we’re open to offers, but I doubt he’s on the list of players we’re actively looking to sell. I think he’s probably in the same boat as the likes of Bissouma, Bentancur and Richarlison. Ideally you’d want to keep for another season to see if they can go up another level or two, but if we can get a decent fee and reinvest, then ok. He isn’t as natural a fit for the system as some of the other names but he’s an industrious, reliable and versatile squad player who will always get meaningful minutes.
