And he was making digs aimed at Conte during every interview last season

If this is true, he still hasn’t reached the same heights he did in those initial 6 months after signing.

It could still be a factor but it’s a reach IMO, if we sign the players we’ve been linked with (Eze, Neto) he’ll be on the outside looking in.

If this was even true, what sort of fee we'd be looking.
Reported we paid €30m or £25m for him. So that's the starting price. Market value is €55m per Transfermarkt. So at least €40-45m?

I'd take that begrudgingly but would be gutted to lose him

I always though Deki cost us a fair bit - wasn't it 38M Euro/Sterling to buy out pluse the 15M -ish loan fee from the start?

I don't think Ange sees him as a wide option anymore.

So he's effectively our Maddison backup.

So if we get a good bid then take it but we shouldn't be selling for anything below 30m IMO.

It’s quite a sad conundrum to have because he plays better in that position than out wide, but if we are getting Eze it makes no sense to keep him and allow his value to drop. He would essentially be third choice in that role.

Yes, but he would have 4 more years ahead of him than Madders has. Just go back and look at Kulu's suitors before we bought him, plenty of links to City, United and the Toon. Maddison has had 3 successive injury blighted seasons. If we buy Neto do we imagine he is going to play every minute. With Kulu on board we have cover for Maddison and Neto. Lets not forget how much territory he covers or the work he does in the central part of the pitch, versus the likes of Johnson, who is currently only effective in the attacking third. Plenty of stats to bear that out.

Just so hard to see who would be a likely buyer for a price we would take.
I assume it would take an absolute min of £30m for us to sell him, who has that sort of cash to spend where he would be a starter? Let's rule out the rich clubs like our top 6 rivals, no Spanish club, Bayern or PSG as none of them would want him. So outside of them and the rest in premier league, I can't see any other club having that sort of cash to buy him.
Small chance maybe a west ham come in but would he go to a premier League club lower than us?
I personally don't want to sell him but even if we were open to sell him I just can't see too many realistic options.
