Interestingly and not surprisingly his fall in form corresponded with becoming a father. I’d back him to perform well again when given the chance this season

I think if we get the players we are targeting it points to Kulu becoming an option to rotate Maddison or even as striker.. If we sign one of doue/eze and Neto it doesn't leave any space for a slow winger who comes inside all the time.

Kulusevski also offers something different so if it came down to the 2 I'm keeping Kulusevski all day long. Soloman is non homegrown and a massive risk now. No issue keeping him but just in terms of priority I'm looking to offload him over Kulusevski.
Yeah, that's fair but ideally I'd keep them both to give us more options to change things up.
We've got enough games and Ange will make plenty of subs so they'll all get minutes.

Having both would certainly help but I'm wondering about the number of non homegrown. I think we have a max 17 for Europe so depends how other deals go. If we got Eze it would help but if we get Doue and Neto I don't see the room to keep Soloman and Kulusevski. It leaves us with some tough choices.

Good player and will be good for Bergvall having him there.

He's only just turned 24, I don't think we have seen the best of him yet.

I also think the tactical awareness is a bit of a myth as well. Playing off that RW Kulu just would not make the back post runs that Johnson does. That is a big part of the role of a wide attacker in the Ange system but for whatever reason a Kulu just wouldn’t make those runs, that’s not tactical awareness that’s frustrating.
He doesn't have the acceleration to play that way, though, so why would he? It would be very unaware by Kulusevski if he were to try that consistently, and of Ange for that matter, if he is asking Kulusevski to do it as a big part of his game. Kulusevski finding spaces in the centre of the box, when others attack one, or both, of the posts (which is what he usually tries) is very much tactical awareness.

That's an example of how he offers something different.

Wonder if that's why the links to Jacob Ramsey have resurfaced?

Links in the Italian media saying Napoli are interested in him

Can’t find the article, but it was calco materio or whatever that newspaper is called.

If selling him means us affording both Neto and Eze, it is a complete no brainer. Kulu is a good player but that scenario would be a massive upgrade.

Edit: the story looks dodgy to say the least.

Agree.

There are players we really are best off selling asap and clubs know they’re in a strong negotiating position, such as AC with Royal.

Kulu is a player we could be open to selling but don’t need to entertain any low ball offers.

In the first part of last season he was a key player for us, especially against United, Woolwich or City. Won‘t sell him at all.

I have a soft spot for Kulu - think there are occasions where his strength and ability to carry the ball out of a tricky situation, coupled with his huge work rate, are top class. On the other hand, there are all those other occasions where he cuts inside and doesn't get a shot or cross off (or poorly executes either option) and becomes very frustrating. Like Dontcallme says above, i'd (reluctantly) accept a good offer but wouldn't entertain being any piss taking offers that seem common with Italian clubs these days !

It would only be acceptable to lose him if we are about to sign Eze and Neto. And I can not see that. Rather keep him for one more year especially if we do not buy a new no.9, he could slot in there. And he can do a job of integrating Bergvall here.
