He has been the best at defensive duties at CB. Now if you are talking full package, including distribution and playing from the back....that is where he gets into trouble. He is still not comfortable on the ball.

A footballer not comfortable on the ball. Jeez

Just watching the Burnley match, absolute colossus, people who don't rate him don't rate his style of play because he looks clumsy on the ball and when he moves as well he's generally in control in what he's doing...could do with sharpening up his distribution but I don't think it's as bad as people make out.

I don’t think he uses his build/height enough but presumably that is something he will learn and develop as he gets more experience. Not sure I have seen yet enough to justify the fee we paid but fees are completely bonkers these days so perhaps I am not up to date with values.

Pochettino reportedly absolutely loved him and he's played every minute under Mourinho thus far. I think that in itself should at the very least make anyone cautious about writing him off.

I agree with that.I also think that when he is bad he is bad but he is also tremendous when he is good. His positioning sometimes isn't good and he is hesitant on the ball. He actually has a nice kick up but rarely does that and passes it off virtually all the time. Not sure his confidence is there

His tackling is good but he does have a problem with bouncing balls, good on headers for the most part but the positioning is not always good. Its that understanding of where the danger will come from + the man you supposed to mark + deciding whether to play someone offside or stay tight behind him. Those decisions often make a player great or not apart from the athleticism and he is 50/50 to me but yes can still learn

He's been in the big league for a while now

That's not really the point is it? CBs often don't peak until they get to 25/26 - And he's already playing at a solid standard, he will massively improve with further experience.

Juan Foyth on the other hand... similar age to Davinson, he's one people should be more worried about.

I'm always a little concerned with DS's positioning.
Yes young comes in to it but a lot of it is having a feel for it. He can get better though

Foyth it's all about his control. If he can control his recklessness but keep his intensity he will be fine

Positioning is something that can be coached - Like Poch did with Kyle Walker and Danny Rose. Sanchez's career will be 10x the career that Foyth has. Foyth has transferred to some shit Italian/Spanish midtable team written all over him.

Cant see where you see that with Foyth. He has played well at times for Spurs and Argentina
He isnt pidgeon holed in CB or RB or mid either

Not being pigeon-holed coming up to the age of 22 is a bad thing. It means you're not good enough to cement a place in your chosen position.

How someone can be positive about Foyth and not rate Sanchez is baffling to me.

Because Spurs fans always seem to appreciate technical players more than those uneasy on the eye and overrate them based on their ability.

Players like Soldado, Jose Dominguez, Taraabt used to get free passes from a lot of our fan base.

Decent shout. This could be it. Foyth is an absolute liability, for example, but people seem to think he will come good. He won't, he's crap.

He not, I think he's a good player but needs to be nurtured properly, he reminds me of John Stones...not sure where he fits in a Mourinho side though.
