He sometimes gets too wrapped up in winning his battles and turning things into a fight but the talent is definitely there. If he's the future he needs to be starting regularly - still think he'll make mistakes but that's the price of not being ManU/City and buying the finished article.

This. There was a moment against Sheffield today, when he was near the touch line and he'd already won the ball, instead of playing back to dier to reset the play and keep the game moving, he kept trying to back into the Sheffield player and eventually the ball went out for a throw in.

Knee jerk
I lean on the positive side with him but he's still so shaky on the ball and loses runners far too often especially with the ball in the air. The Sheffield forward turned him so easily in the first half for what was almost their first goal.

I thought he did well up at Liverpool and Everton to be fair. I think at home, where the onus is on us to push things and in most cases we'll have more possession, he isn't good enough on the ball.

Sanchez is the least of our problems, and not really a problem at all to begin with. He's a quality defender and absolute beast. An important piece going forward for us. What we need is him to play with fullbacks that can carry the ball down the flanks and make decisive passes.

I do think how poor our fullbacks are makes him look worse. Our buildup play in general is so bad with how much we just give the ball to our fullbacks and say good luck. The couple times we broke their press successfully was because Lo Celso dropped deep received the ball and with one or two touches switched the field or broke the lines. Ndombeles stamina right now isn’t helping but giving the ball in the middle to Sissoko and Winks who just give it right back to the defense is doing more harm than it is good.

In his first season he showed steady signs of improvement. In the second he barely played as TA and JV were preferred and played most matches, in short he stagnated. This year he's still not a regular and has had a different partner every game. We need to settle on a partnership and just let it develop.

He gets a lot of stick on here, but he is improving and is still very young (23)

Alderweireld is off at the end of the season and Verts is 32 now, so I would also like to see him settle a partnership with a new CB (a new signing) for the long term.

Sanchez is the best defender at the club. Get use to that. Toby and Jan are better footballers but Sanchez by far is the better defender.

To be fair, think he has done alright defensively in the last 3 games. He is not great on the ball however and that can show up at home where we have a lot of the possession up against well organised teams.

It's weird, because when he first started playing for us he was immense and was actually really good on the ball and pinging short passes into midfield. Lately he gives you that uncertainty that someone like Vlad Chiriches did. Hopefully he can go back to how he was with more regular playing time.

Too long time with poor coaching most likely, after all training has more impact than game time according to our manager
