He really was. Very very assured performance.

He's more hellbent on using his body to floor the opposition player than actually clearing or winning the ball. Invariably, when comes up against a forward who can match him for strength, it seems like every attempt to overpower the opposition player has him losing out on those duels, which then leads to Davinson making last gasp attempts to win the ball back. Really frustrating.

Look I’ve always defended this guy and he’s been decent this season but I’m not sure he’s quite good enough if we really want to compete for titles in the future. He’s got all the attributes in the world but just has Mustafi-esque moments where he seems to completely switch off (which I would have hoped would have ceased by now since its his third season) and is also pretty shaky on the ball and hence invites the press. By no means a bad defender, but I’m not sure he’s top notch.

I wouldn't be shocked if he was sold

I am not sure he is good enough, he has good attributes and some good games but far too often he only worries about the physical contact with the striker

Or he goes to the ground when he doesn't have to

He makes so many sloppy mistakes and frequently misjudges the flight or bounce of the ball

He also seems to panic when in possession if he is put under any sort of pressure

All that said, he's very young still, has a lot of physical attributes and natural abilities that could see him become a top defender, I'm still very unsure if it will ever be with us though

Unfortunately we are seeing some mistakee creep back that we saw in the past, he had a really great run of games earlier in season but I think he's one of those who is suffering from the constant chopping and changing.

Problem is he's so inconsistent. You think he's cracked it but then he throws in a performance like tonight where he was all over the place positionally, and sloppy all game.

Unsteady at times tonight. His season has been like it at times, but he has also been our best outfield player this season in some matches. Not a great day at the office and would like to think he has loads to offer this team moving forward.

He has all the attributes to be a very good defender. But get him anywhere near the vicinity of the ball, and I expect something terrible to happen.
He had a bit of a nightmare today, and was fortunate it didn't cost us the game. He's not helped with Toby and Vert being past their best. I think he needs a top CB next to him as added protection and confidence, like Dawson needed King.

Some comments in here are a joke. He was good tonight despite a few shaky moments. Fantastic composed headed clearance to a white shirt with 5 minutes lefts and the game getting frantic.

This is the longest he's ever had a break. He played in South America all the way to their champions league final, went to Ajax didnt have a break, think he had an international tournament and then he joined us and then I know he hasn't had a single summer off. Would have done him the world of good.

He has the potential to be a brilliant defender he is far from that now. Makes to many errors and gets bullied by big CFs
