Yeah by making them take Ndombele that's the equivalent of us receiving 100m.Perhaps we didn't accept previous bids for him because the other clubs wouldn't take Ndombele too.

Yep looks a wild decision to me. Its 13 mill pounds and that's if add-ons are reached for our 40 mill CB who has been playing well recently. Great deal for the Turks and yes, there looks to be an element of self sabotage like vs Fulham .This feels like 4 months of praying we don’t get an injury to VDV and Romero to me. The 3rd and 4th options are a player that’s not a CB in a back 4 and doesn’t have the pace to play in the high line and an 18 year old. Feels like this could potentially be a real self sabotage. Really hope not!
Yep, naive to believe we could attract 2 top CBs in the last window, the rebuild has started and I’m happy with that.Personally I’d like to know a centre back that would sign for us knowing they are going to be a back up. People keep saying just sign him, eg Tapsoba. He would never have signed as a back up for a team with no European football.
Give youth a chance Is the way forward.
Because we would never do that?Tbh I’m not fussed we got less money from Galatasaray than Rennes offered. Rennes got a big windfall in cash from selling doku but they still had the cheek to carry on pleading poverty.
It winds me up how these mainland Europe clubs operate. Be consistent ffs, don’t demand ridiculous fees for your players from PL clubs if you’re going to also only offer peanuts when buying from the PL.
Did we not get that offer the day before deadline day and Bournemouth weren't prepared to let Lloyd Kelly go at that stage of the window anyway?I think the main complaint is we got a very similar offer last week and rejected it. If we'd have sold him then we'd have had a much better chance at getting a much needed replacement.

maybe he rejected it? maybe it never existed?I think the main complaint is we got a very similar offer last week and rejected it. If we'd have sold him then we'd have had a much better chance at getting a much needed replacement.
They don't want a goalkeeper do they?Yeah by making them take Ndombele that's the equivalent of us receiving 100m.
I'd love to know if there was something that went down in his personal life or something that hit his confidence, because whilst I'm sure he is going to be remembered as a bit of a joke and a poor signing, what people forget is just how good he was in his first season. I thought we had the next Ledley on our hands:
Take a look at the early pages of this very thread - https://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/index.php?threads/player-watch-davinson-sanchez.129901/page-24
He was so good after his first season that he earned himself a new six year deal, but it was so sad to see him get progressively worse and worse from the moment he signed it. Every time it seemed like he was improving and starting to fulfil his potential then he'd drop an absolute howler and the fans would get on his back again.
Good luck to him - seemed like a good bloke, although in all honesty I'm glad that I'll never have to watch him play in defence for us again.
I'm not even sure Rennes did offer more. I thought it was 7.9milion? And who knows what the agreement is on Davs final year of contract and clearly the TN deal was all part of the overall negotiations.Tbh I’m not fussed we got less money from Galatasaray than Rennes offered. Rennes got a big windfall in cash from selling doku but they still had the cheek to carry on pleading poverty.

A classic case why it's important to have a style of play that we stick to as a club and recruit players, managers and DoF's that all fit thatSuch a shame, he was absolutely amazing in first season. We were playing a style that allowed him to use his physical gifts in terms of speed and strength. And gave him multiple passing options on the ball, so minimised his weakness.
Once mourinho came in - a manager who had already called him a weak spot at Ajax when Man U played them in the europa league final - and we started playing defensive, reactrive football it seems Sanchez's confidence fell off a cliff and never really recovered. Not helped one bit by our idiotic fans booing him.
He had a disastrous time at Lyon and was also fined around £1 million for beating the mother of his daughters. No thanks.Think we probably promised him he could leave and kept to it.
I understand Jerome Boetang is still available as a free agent. He's 35. Wonder what his pace is still like? We probably could do worse on a short term - til Xmas window or til the end of the season?
