I would honestly drop him right now. I honestly feel that we have better options in the under 23's. I hope Rodon can step up, cause we're gonna need him. I will caveat his performance today though by saying that playing as the left centre half did him no favours, however, I've not seen that many great games from him in his more natural position either.

The thing with him too is that his whole appearance is shaky, it's not even like Foyth for instance who looks fairly calm but always makes an inevitable mistake, everything with Sanchez just feels kind of rash, even the things he ends up doing well but it's all far from reassuring.

It's like it's just his style of play, I can't see him eliminating it from his game anytime soon.

I'm not sure what has happened with Sanchez but he has gone backwards since we signed him.

Wonder if we could persuade Inter to take him in a swap deal for Skriniar? Would suit their high line as one thing he does have is pace.

Playing on the left shouldn’t affect his ability to pass the ball to a white shirt. He was shocking from the off.

He has that look of a mental obstacle that doesn't seem to go away.

But TBH I think his ceiling has reached. He's never been really properly discussed before and too shy - like always need the companionship of Dier or Toby in the defence to solidify his presence, if not he seems to be ghosting about which just never ooze that confidence of him being in defence who can call the shot or whatsoever.

I guess it has been long enough to safely say the price tag he arrived for was not worthy or justified.

Not good enough. The own goal was unlucky but the stupid fouls and bad passing is always there with him

I feel like today is the day a lot of fans will finally lose faith in him.

He's not a bad player but he's just far too inconsistent and error prone for a top player. Given his height and strength he rarely looks dominant in physical or aerial duels, and today just proved how mentally fragile he is. The most worrying thing is that he hasn't improved at all since he joined and has actually regressed since his first 2 seasons.

He's fine as a 3rd or 4th choice but we seriously need to upgrade.

Not the first time he seemingly gets his positioning wrong when headering and it goes off at a stupid angle. Unfortunately this time it was next to our goal.

This is what I’m worried about.

Our centre backs are still dodgy - Sanchez. Toby, Dier, they all have mistakes in them.

Was saying to dad watching it Sanchez has been good but still gives me shits as does Toby.

Roden needs to play I think and we need another centre back as defensively just not good enough.

Rodon better be ready to take it to the next level cause Sanchez is clearly not good enough.

He’s extremely inconsistent. He does have matches, or periods within matches, where he looks imperious. But then he frequently makes incredibly poor mistakes. I suppose it’s a part of the process of a player who is still young for his position, but I don’t see how much longer we can persist with him. He costs us far too frequently.

I'm not in any way shape or form defending him - I can't stand him personally, but I'd question why he was playing there though. Sanchez does nothing that is of a good enough level imo.
