I think maybe that's happening now...

Rose has said he's not going to stay, so if he's not in the plans then he doesn't need to play. The same could be said for Eriksen, but we are short on attacking players at the moment so Jose has used him in order to try to win games.

Sad that we are coming to the end of Danny's time with us and talking about him like this. I think he's constantly given his all for the team. Made some stupid mistakes talking to the press and that's cost him his reputation amongst most fans.

Before I start I'll be upfront about ii've never been a DR fan so what follows may seem overly harsh but I believe it's fair once the Spurs tints are removed.

I think the main thing may be that finally people are waking up to the truth that he isn't a very good LB/LWB; Harry bloody Redknapp says he won't make it as a top class winger but will be be a top full back.
People have mistaken running about a bit and looking busy above actual technique and ability both offensively and defensively.

Break down his Spurs career and be brutally honest about it he had that goal against Arsenal, a good season for Sunderland, 2 seasons where combined with Walker he was decent under Poch in a system that played to every players strengths, so on balance 4/5 seasons for Spurs where he was okay plus the Sunderland one.

He should've been sold when Walker wanted out and we should've signed two new full backs the beginning of that Summer. He was never as good as he or the faithful thought he was, that's the harsh truth of it IMHO.

Revisionist. Plainly put he was probably the best left back in the league that year. The injury at Sunderland set him back massively but he has still been our best left back in the premier League.

Funny reading comments saying that he should have been sold the same time as Walker...as if there's any realism in that scenario

Maybe the change of scenery (if it is just a loan, but hoping it's perm.) does him good, but get the feeling he is also no longer enamoured with the club.

Tanganga, Davies, Sessegnon covers him easily. He has been such a liability that we are conceding 2 a game when he is in XI- most goals resulting from his mistakes.
Dont care loan or permanent - need to get rid of him for being a distraction & leaks to press.

Yeah I’ve been happy to give Danny the benefit of the doubt what with his mental health issues etc. But when you start leaking stuff to the gutter press trying to negatively effect the club, it’s time to get rid.

Where does this "refreshingly honest " come from as what I see is a spiteful troublemaker who has no qualms about saying things about the club which we can all see are untrue this bloke is toxic and if all players were "refreshingly honest " you would have anarchy and chaos .
The sooner this bloke is out of THFC the better for the management players and fans .

Wait till he leaves and then opens his gob!

He will really unload

We are lucky it’s the euros in the summer. With him being rightly frozen out by Mourinho he may lose his place in the squad. Going to Newcastle must be good for all parties. I suspect the struggle will be that we will want a fee.

If you look at the latest comments he said that the club won't be offering him a new contract so he'll stay until his contract expires. So he's basically said he'll be leaving, but that he'll be staying for as long as he can.

If we don't play him and can find a decent club closer to home that wants him I'm sure he'd leave before his contract expires.

If we’d have sold Rose that summer we sold Walker, there would have been RIOTS losing both of who were at the time were England’s first choice full backs.

I doubt it’s as straightforward as @buckley has made out.

That said, Rose is clearly unhappy at the club and I don’t see many benefits for us in keeping an unhappy, out of form player. In this case a move will probably suit all parties.

Rose gets a lot of criticism for being outspoken at times. I actually have no problem with him being opinionated, I just think he’s been naive about when to voice them in public and what channels to use.

Much like Eriksen, I’m sad to see him go as there have been a lot of good memories made. The Pochettino team is quite rightly now being dissembled piece by piece and it’s just gutting that they never won anything together. But it’s time to move on, for the sake off all parties involved.

Good luck Danny.

There's a difference between being outspoken and being honest about mental health, to running off to the press with bullshit stories like a spoilt child.
That last piece in The Sun was the final straw for me, pretending like there's unrest in the squad just because you're unhappy is massively disrespectful to the club and your team mates.

Fair play and it's your opinion but I think fans are massively precious about stuff like this. We expect cast iron loyalty from players but as soon as they aren't at their best we fuck em off elsewhere.

I don't think Rose is being disloyal, I just think he is honest and if asked a question will answer it. As I understand it he's not on social media so perhaps doesn't see the full extent of the backlash. Either way he's a blunt northern bloke, who speaks is mind.

Disrespectful to club and teammates is Danny’s raison d’être unfortunate...

No, that's very true but in this latest incident, it feels more like he's run off to have a bitch, rather than been asked questions.

I not really had much of an issue with anything he's said in the past but telling lies about his team mates is a different kettle of fish. He's not giving honest answers to questions, he's making up stories about unhappiness within the squad.
