At this point our best option may well be to try and negotiate a release.

Absolutely.

While we can’t really afford to lose many more players without replacements, we can afford even less to keep bad apples in the dressing room.

Get him off the wage bill and get rid.

All those papers without a soundbite or a source close to the dressing room, what ever will they do?

This squad is really souring. Such a disappointment. I agree with others about seeing if he’d be open to a move or negotiating his release. From what was a player who always seemed to give it his all to basically the only thing he’s done over the past year or 2 is create headlines for reasons outside of the pitch. It’s just old at this point.

Not surprising and plausible tbf due to his past handling of situations, maybe atleast he didnt run to a news paper and do a warts and all interview .

Maybe he should do his own personal interview with himself warts and all, and come to realise his performance have been well below par and consistently making silly mistakes. If his performances were of the top quality he has, i dont think JM would leave him out, tbf no PL team would leave him out if he is performing to level and talent he actually has

He can go even without a replacement imo, ideally I’d like one but wouldn’t have a problem with Davies, verts, sess and cirkin until the summer

Pointless to keep around. Barely plays and when he does he is always one of the worst performers on the team.

Something tells me this will end far worse for Danny than it will for Jose

He is massively part of the problem and needs to go. I’ve not been keen on him since he disrespected the club and his team mates with that sun interview. We should of turfed him out then but we’re weak and kept him on.

I can understand him not being sold last summer though. Sessegnon was injured and we didn’t know when Davies was back after his hernia operation. We had no other left back.

He may look like he’s giving his all, but is it for the team or himself? I think I know which it is.

I just can't believe the absolute joke of him wanting an explanation for being left out of the squad. Does lhe really need one or is he just a total trouble maker. Pay him off for goodness sake.

Unfortunately paying off his contract is not an option. What does that say to any other player with a couple of years left who wants to leave? Cause a load of fuss and strop around the place and get your contract paid up and collect a nice signing on fee from another club? It’s a precedent you don’t want to create.

Didn't seem to bother us to much in the right back position ?‍♂️

A bit like when Pochettino came in, there was a need to get rid of the deadwood and the bad apples. I think Mourinho has similarly identified the players he trusts, and also the players that he wants to move on. There isn't much of Spurs future for Rose, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Wanyama, KWP and Foyth.

You can get away with being a prick when you're contributing to the team, but when you haven't played well in at least 12 months you just become a burden. Time to go Danny.

Big shame because he could have been a club legend. He’s a loser but thinks he is entitled to huge wages and silverware . Disrespecting a true winner in mourinho if the bust up is true , he’s only played 2 good seasons for us in 13 years

Well at least stop putting him in any squads then. Not sure if he is still expecting to be considered for the England euro squad. Probably is, based on his reaction to being left out

Think we should offer him out on a free transfer and if a deal can't be done then yeah negotiate a release. Will cost us a few million but this past few months/years should tell us how crucial squad harmony is. There's enough options in the squad to cover.
