Regardless of when he leaves, we need to upgrade our fullbacks.

TAA and robertson had over 10 assists each last season for liverpool and are yet again leading the assists for their club this season.

Jamturk says that players are treated like chattel . to my mind there are only four clubs that pay higher wages in this country and if getting anything from 30 to 90 grand a week is being treated like chattel then boy would I like to be treated like chattel .
Some of these players need a reality check and if the only reason they want out of spurs is money then I am afraid they are in for a shock as
the wages even on a free will not be a lot different with what they are getting now
It is a fallacy about spurs being low payers of wages as the there are four that pay more and 87 that pay less in England.
Abroad wages are in general lower than the UK unless you play for one of the uber clubs and none of them will be interested in our wantaways .
You will have to excuse me because I have no sympathy with any of these wantaways if money is their motivation .
Nothing can excuse there seeming to down tools so to speak .
Even if they have other reasons 100% effort should still be the norm.
And when you say chattel, you mean talkative cows yeah?

He is earning a small fortune. How can you feel sorry for him. Im starting to get fedup of this shit. Very much in favour of a wage cap throughout the footballing world and make everything competitive again and stop these spoilt bastards grizzling every chance they get.

One of the more baffling things for me, why does he wait to be away with England to say this shit? Like, does he think it won't get back to the club or something???

If you wanted reasons for our current decline might suggest that we have five players that don't want to be here and most fans don't want them either and Rose is in essence saying stuff Levy stuff the fans stuff my fellow team mates .
And myself as a fan am saying stuff Rose

No one that's around the club would ask the same questions for fear of reprisal and access loss. Reporters dont have to worry about that when they are covering international football. Danny's quality is that he speaks his mind and answers questions asked of him openly and honestly. Can't ask for anything more, to be honest. It's refreshing.

Well you could, regardless of his feelings toward the board he could have enough respect for the club and fans to not to make THFC look stupid until after he's left. He's hardly been frozen out or treated unfairly.

If he'd wanted to leave but the club refused to negotiate then I'm sure he'd be the first to complain about being treated like an object. So what's so wrong with the club being open to offers?

I get the feeling that the board like to treat the players as chattel and a few of the players are giving them the finger.

Rightfully so.

Also the Bale sale was wanted by the board just as much as Bale, mark my words. Don't be fooled by the faux indignation.

Kaboul told levy that he’s not a cow

He’s not going anywhere? Fine, sign a replacement, strip him of his squad number and then see how he reacts.

Wages is one area where Levy has been pretty shrewd. By keeping the basic wage down and supplementing it with a lucrative bonus scheme, he's protected the club when we have a bad run, like now, but it also means that players moving on have a lower wage for new clubs to match. Maybe the bonuses being out of reach is one reason for the players whining though.

He hasn't mentioned anything about Pochettino not wanting him around. For all we know Levy could be trying to flog him over his head because he wants to make a few quid before his decline becomes obvious to potential suitors.

decline becomes obvious? We failed to flog him in the summer and he’s been shocking this season... the cat’s already out of the bag.

I don't mind any of this bullshit with Rose. What I mind is how monumentally shit he's been this season. Truly amateurish positional play has cost us numerous goals - he doesn't seem focused on the game at all when he plays. If you are going to see out your contract at least fulfil the terms of it and give your all.

Wow so many precious comments in here. It's not a "PR disaster" it's just Danny Rose being asked a question and then answering it.

I love how people say how sports people are so bland and dull, always with the safe soundbite but then shit the bed when Danny speaks up.

Not a lot wrong in what he says and he isn't a roman slave, he can say what he wants as long as it's not derogatory or libellous - which this isn't.

I mean, the only way I can see Bale being relevant to this thread is that he was also a left back, amirite???

I'm just giving my opinion that the selling of players when they reach a stage in their careers where their value will start to plummet is the same business instinct as selling a Gareth bale at the height of their value.

Agree with you usually but not this time. Rose wanted out before when it suited him and now he's not flavour of the month he wants to see out his contact. Our focus needs to be the players who want to be better long term not the likes of Danny and Eriksen

Rose has had a bee in his bonnet ever since his mate Walker got his big money move and he didn’t

Don’t think forcing players out the door is great tbh I think if he’s going to see out his contract then we try and get the best out of him, he’s more athletic than Davies and if we can pair him with a decent RB on the other side and a team the can press and function ahead of him then he’ll be fine at least until the end of this summer. Then we can try and bed in sessengon or if he’s seen as a LW not LB then sure sign a replacement
