A bit like southgate did with trippier at the world cup?

Poch gets the team playing well, when they do each individual looks good.

When ramos was our manager, the team was playing shit. The players looked shit. Redknapp and a year later they look fantastic. Did redknapp develop them?
I guess it’s a bit chicken and egg in terms of where good tactics/ motivation/ team cohesion end and in a player improvement begin, but I would suggest that in fact the two feed into each other. A stable, drilled side with a clear identity and balance is an environment conducive to a player playing regularly, performing well and improving, but at the same time a well coached player will improve, evolve and play a part in that balanced, high performing team.

Davies - Vert - Sanchez - Foyth
(Sess - ????????????? - Aurier)
That is not fun to look at on paper. Hope we know what we’re doing!

Exactly. That is my point.

Danny was a good player. Poch never taught him how to play. Just taught him how to fit into his team as he did with the others. It worked for him and the team and both looked good.

This was one of dannys grievances. He was not a shit player before poch came along. He had ability.

If a 19/20 year old TAA can win the CL for Liverpool then Sessegnon can go straight in for us. Aurier/KWP and Foyth should be fine at RB

In all seriousness, we might suddenly be looking very short defensively

We're going from:

Trippier, Alder, Vert, Rose
Aurier, Foyth, Sanchez, Davies

To

Foyth, Sanchez, Vert, Davies
Aurier, KWP.

Now we might potentially add Saliba and Sessegnon, good prospects but fuck me we are losing a lot of experience in Alderweireld and Rose, I think realistically Dier has to be moving to CB.

Foyth Sanchez Vert Davies
Aurier, Saliba, Dier, Sessegnon

Lots of potential but we are going to be weak in the backline next season it seems so unless there's some names not in the media yet we are taking a gamble, fingers crossed we can get those 2 though.

TAA is an absolute monster, I don’t think any of us should expect Sessegnon to replicate that next season.

I never said he lacked ability, but I did think he was poor for us. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I just didn’t think he was good enough, and that was only based on his performances and nothing more.

We were warned the rebuild would be painful. I have every faith in the coaching team to set us up for the next 5-10 years with the guys they bring in.

People are biased against Davies because he’s a run of the mill white guy. He’s not worse than rose and certainly more consistent as well as younger. I don’t see the point in selling Danny though, they’re plenty good enough as a pair
