Quite simply, the guy isn’t good enough and seems to have grown this incredibly bad attitude. Not sure how many years are left on his contract but I would be happy to see one of those “mutual” decisions to end his contract early.
The moment he told us he won’t be sold and intends to see out his contract he should have been told he would be no where near a squad. Fed up of us being held to ransom by players who want to just get paid and see out their time getting the club no money back in for them but talking themselves up as if they could leave tomorrow for a much bigger club.
How can you have the cheek to say you expect to leave on a free at the end of your contract and then complain when you aren’t played. You aren’t committed, other players are, they play, you don’t.
Honestly, let’s just get this attitude out of our club.
They all say they deserve to have won something, well, you’re the players. It can’t ALL come down to the manager that you haven’t performed on the pitch to win anything. Yes, I agree Levy and freshening up the squad plays a part. However some of these players basically act as if they would walk in to any other teams eleven and win something tomorrow. Simply, they wouldn’t.
he can retire any time he wants to, so Im not sure what to make of that statement.
If you thought Modric, Bale, Walker or Eriksen was being disrespectful of our club, just have a look at Danny Rose.
Can't believe he hasn't got more stick. Even when the fans still was singing his name after his first comments was embarrassing.
Being professional is clearly not in his locker.
This is so true. Hasn’t performed at a high level for far longer than Eriksen. And to top it off he regularly bad mouths the club and makes self serving comments.Yet Eriksen is the one who is the constant target for irate fans. Work that one out ??
In both circumstances, the players are doing what's best for them, not the club. That's fine by the way - most employees would do the same. The issue is form - a player will be forgiven for most things if they are playing well. This is where being a Tottenham fan gets confusing. Eriksen isn't committed because he says he wants to leave, but Rose isn't committed because he said he wants to stay and that the club won't force him out
I think he was just referring to one aspect of football. It's a bit like me moaning that I'm looking forward to retiring so that I don't have to get up at half five in the morning. It doesn't mean that I want to retire now, just that I hate that part of my work life. I do want to retire now though.
spot on.If you thought Modric, Bale, Walker or Eriksen was being disrespectful of our club, just have a look at Danny Rose.

Nah, I'm not having this.
Rose has been here over a decade, puts his body on the line every time he plays, and has dealt with a whole ton of shit. He paid his penance for his comments about leaving when Walker did, same as Toby did. His outspoken nature is refreshing, same as Benni's was, and like any good Yorkshireman, he'll say what he likes, and you'll like what he bloody well says. His interviews have been more about raising awareness to issues like Depression and Racism in the game, which people still try to dismiss.
He's been up front about wanting to see out his contract, and then leave the game. In the meantime, I see him fully committed in every game he plays, irrespective of form. The lad is Spurs, and I've got his fucking back, not that he needs it.
Yeah, cos that's the point I was making ?Just cos he's got a northern accent doesn't mean he's not a tool.
A great goal against the Goons, one great season under Poch.
We're not a charity. His lack of professionalism is staggering.
Newcastle are his level now.
Yeah, cos that's the point I was making ?

Well, there's plenty of examples on these forums alone, but I was referring to the larger scope of how these issues are still scoffed at in the game in general. And that is what Rose has been referring to himself when discussing these things. Beyond an sensationalist headline in a notoriously sensationalist rag, I don't see him being "a dick" here.Nobody has tried to dismiss those and I suspect if you go back through this thread he has most people's overwhelming support on both issues. You can suffer both those things and not be a dick don't forget. The evidence of his behaviour over the last couple of years and the last couple of days have shown him to be just that. A dick.
