They play decent football, so should be a great opportunity for him to showcase his abilityApparently they are in desperate need for a striker so wouldn't be surprised to see him go straight in.
Surely you’ve answered your own question. If a player doesn’t get game time it either means 1) it was a bad loan that didn’t provide a good opportunity for first team football and/or 2) they haven’t taken the opportunity meaning they aren’t at the level we hoped. Either is disappointingI’ve never understood the mentality of being disappointed if our loanees don’t get enough game time. For the most part they are going to teams they should be aiming to get into the first 11 of. If Dane ends up on the bench at Oxford then questions seriously need to be asked about his longevity at Spurs.
True, but what I was more alluding to was why would we as Spurs fans expect the loan side to keep playing our kids if the player is not up to scratch and could potentially cost them? Portsmouth got promoted last season, and I don’t know if Dane played every single match but if they did decide to drop him at one point due to a lack of contribution then fair play to them. I wouldn’t be expecting them to be thinking about the Spurs players’ interest when they’re fighting for promotion. I don’t subscribe to this idea of a loan move to a league 1 side for a player trying to break into a premier league team being bad because Portsmouth couldn’t fit him in. It would’ve been bad because the kid didn’t make the most of the opportunity.Surely you’ve answered your own question. I do agree with what you're saying but in the past, we've loaned players out, only for the manager who wanted them to leave and the new gaffer wants to build his own team.I’ve never understood the mentality of being disappointed if our loanees don’t get enough game time. anyone know what’s with him not getting the minutes?
Harris, their other striker, has four goals in four games and Scarlett was extremely poor when he got a start in the League Cup midweek.anyone know what’s with him not getting the minutes?
We oughta put him in our first team then..Same as what's happened in almost all his loans to date. Dane turns up and suddenly the club's existing forwards hit unexpectedly excellent form.
bottom line is, he's just not been good enough in mens footballanyone know what’s with him not getting the minutes?
(Different bird: Parrett)I just don’t see him making it with us.
He needs a successful loan in league 2 & therefore be snapped up by someone like Parrot was.
Dilan Markanday has had a tough couple of years after being injured on his debut for Blackburn. Last season he was in and out of the team, looking good in patches but not building any rhythm to his game. This season he has gone out on loan to Chesterfield in League Two. Those Blackburn fans who still had hopes for him were dismayed, and the Spireites are pinching themselves unable to believe their luck. He should be aiming to play at a higher level, but he needs regular football to get his confidence back. And he needs to start getting on the scoresheet again. Forwards do, particularly young ones. So hopefully he has thought it through and decided he needs to swallow his pride and step down in order to step back up. So, yes, maybe that’s what Scarlett should be doing.Just loan him to somewhere he can play every game ffs don't care the level of the league
