I know Norwich had a good win Saturday but they are predicted to have a struggling season just to stay in the championship.

I think a move to Sunderland would have been better they play good football and have players like Jack Clarke and jones Bellgham to Norwich
Norwich lost 2 - 0 on Saturday......

Potentially an excellent loan for the lad - feels like his last chance to prove himself good enough to play for us. Wish him well.

any insight into Oxford United?
My mate who supports them says Scarlett has to be in the XI asap because they only have two strikers, one is injured and one is an unready 19 year old.

They do try to play football and they have Cameron Brannagan who was highly rated at Liverpool once upon a time pulling the strings in midfield but they're still favourites to go down despite beating Norwich on opening day so Scarlett will have to show he's improved at finishing his chances, he might not get a lot of them even if he's a regular starter.

Very encouraging comments from their head coach and head of football operations.

Seems ludicrous to say it's a last chance for a 20 year old but I do agree.

Hope he really fires and gives us something to think about.

It feels like a last chance because last season was such a waste with a poor/unlucky loan and so few chances with us when he came back.

He needs a good season for himself and his career forward, whether with us or not.

Maybe last chance for a Tottenham career at the first time of asking, but not a last chance at a job playing football for a living. Hope he goes there and finds the confidence to become the player he wants and wrecks the Championship giving us all a headache next summer.

Needs a Defoe at Bournemouth type loan spell, not necessarily stats wise but in terms of becoming a key player for a team and looking better than that level.

I’ve never understood the mentality of being disappointed if our loanees don’t get enough game time. For the most part they are going to teams they should be aiming to get into the first 11 of. If Dane ends up on the bench at Oxford then questions seriously need to be asked about his longevity at Spurs.

Had a look at the 2 strikers they have. Will Goodwin has 7 goals at league 1 level. Mark Harris has played 88 games in the championship and has managed to score a grand total of 10 goals. Fingers crossed this one finally turns out to be a good loan.

Isn’t the view of a loan to a lower level club done so with the view of increased game time and first team exposure. EG results based performances.

If game time doesn’t happen, the loan clearly isn’t going to be beneficial.

Say what you want about testing character and such like, the only way to get better at playing football, is by….playing football.

its also part of the growth process - learning to fight for a spot in the XI.

A bad loan is one where the team has no incentive to play the younger players, and maybe never gives them a chance to win a spot.

A good loan, is any club that allows the players to compete for a spot on merit - then its up to the player to fight for that spot during training.

I like Scarlett and I think he has a good future in the game.

But something seems a bit off about his mood. He used to smile and play with joy. Since the last year or so he barely celebrates goals and looks frustrated constantly

Think he has a lot of pressure on his shoulders with Lankshear having a breakthrough year or so whilst he stalled out on loan. Whether that's pressure he's putting on himself or from the club I don't know. Hopefully he has a good year at Oxford.

Seems their friday game is televised, could be sub on that one? Might be too soon for starting slot?

No I think he might play that. May even already be on the bench tonight in the Carabao.

EFL clubs tend not to mess around and Oxford need a front man. Assuming he's fit, he'll get minutes quickly.
