Absolutely love that from him. Yes maybe he said that because he intends to leave at the end of the season so figures he doesn't have much to loose but that doesn't mean his words carry any less weight. Wish Son would and Maddison would do the same.

Very much no lose for him. He knows he’s seen as an asset - that will be sold if needs be - but also probably had a contract offer on the table but will only sign if investment comes. Hats off to him.

Has a group of players ever turned on the owners instead of the manager? Has that ever happened before?

Imagine if another player comes out and backs Romero…

Holy hell I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a player do this when they’re still with the club.

He has just single handedly put monumental pressure on Levy.
Yeah I bet Levy is absolutely shitting himself, someone coming out, telling everyone what they already know

Our Ex manager did it in a press conference ffs

I really like Romero even if I think he has another level in him that he hasn't shown us.

So happy he's come out and said this. Jamie Carragher gave a scathing analysis of Levy after the Chelsea defeat.

If players start openly saying we don't do enough to compete and the fans loudly voice their displeasure at matches then movement might actually happen.

If it was my choice I'd love for Romero to stay and lead but I think his time is coming to an end and at the end of the season he'll be off to Madrid.

Fair play to him for saying it. Hopefully he doesn't lose his bottle and say it was mistranslated.

Let's face it he's been very poor for us since the world cup win and has cost us multiple times this season but any player that can call out the owners like this will be very fondly remembered

You can easily get rid of a manager.

Much harder to get rid of a senior player with a huge transfer fee, who has a top standing within the group.

If other players come out in support of Romero, Levy could have a player mutiny on his hands, the likes of which hasn’t been seen before.

There is a big difference between a vice captain coming out with this kind of comment and what Conte did.

Is he speaking the truth because he wants a transfer or does he want a transfer because this is the truth?

Bravo Romero 👏

There needs to be more of this unambiguous finger pointing to where the main root cause of our woes lie.
