So, he and his wife have just had another kid.

I swear our players' form always dramatically dips around fatherhood.

Reckon Levy starts handing out advice at breakfast and putting the fear into them? 🤷🏼‍♂️😆

and the Spurs home-page suggest thats why he missed Argentina’s last game…. so 3 pages of injury-related kvetching for nought…..

South American players put country before club every time. That's just how it is. It's different over here where most supporters would rather see their club win a game of Monopoly than England win a tournament.
The thing is, if people take their own bias out of the occasion why wouldn't you? Its a patriotic country, that is on the other side of the world. Spurs are his employer, they arent his life they arent his identity why wouldn't you be Argentina first if you were him? He is in a foreign country at a foreign club who he has no real allegiance to outside of them paying his salary....

Everyone complaining, do you put your current employer over everything?

I agree. It's an odd thing. I reckon it's the size of club football here. I'd genuinely rather see Spurs win a game of noughts and crosses than England do anything. I actually find myself feeling like a bit of a hypocrite cheering on England with Arsenal players in the team. Like you can just turn off hating them feels a bit insincere.

yeah I agree, its so tribal here, but Romero is not English and Argentina is an incredibly patriotic country so it absolutely makes sense for him to love playing for them, he won a world cup with them, he's won copa americas with them its easy to love playing for them, surrounded by his own countryman, his own culture, back home with his friends and family...

Can't blame him. It is what it is. Personally don't fault his commitment on the field I just wish he'd consider marking at the far post occasionally.

If Ange too goes around calling Bentancur and Romeo Italians, I can understand why they're a bit annoyed.
Where for art thou, Romeo?

A reasonable question - certainly nowhere near Vardy, Welbeck etc when he should have been

1 wife and kids
2 Argentina
3 Golf
4 Spurs

Still wanna keep him though, we need to build not dismantle

Cash in, milk the Madridians dry, our scouting team arm seems tip top. Davies twice the team player.

I'm a big believer in rewarding good performances.
Dragusin has earnt the right to stay at RCB until he starts costing us.

Sends a clear message to the squad it's a merit based system, you play well you carry on playing.
And if you're not available you're not just walking straight back into the team when you are.

Whilst Romero may be the better player he needs to prove it the hard way.

It feels like it could be Walker and Trippier all over again where the incumbent takes his eye off the ball and the rotation option takes their chance and never lets go. Let’s just hope if it is a repeat of that then that Dragusin doesn’t fall to pieces like Trippier eventually did!

Romero is class on his day and we need to be building squads with his type of quality in it, not selling. As a starter, rotation whatever.

Radu and Davies played well yesterday, but it’s amazing how better CBs look when the whole team, especially the midfield, protects them and puts in the work rate they did last night.

When the midfield does that, Romero and VDV would equally look quality. Only need to look at the Galatasary game where it could have been double figures with the same CBs as last night. If you don’t have the work rate, press the right way or positional awareness to prefect the defence, you look exposed like in that game.

In Ange’s system, our defence are only as good as the pressing and the protection the whole team put in.

To be fair that happened with co captain Maddison dropping to the bench behind Kulu and he came in and did great one the weekend

I hope, if warranted, we can do it with Romero too

Dragusin deserves another start as right sided cb.
No doubt, it's more than Davies and Dragusin will play min 3 games in a row now which is great for them but given VDV won't be back until at earliest mid December then the more rotation we can do now the better especially with the real need to give udogie a rest in Europe where we could put Davies there.
It wasn't anything about Dragusins quality (although let's be honest Romero is a better player) it's more about having more players available to help with options

I’m certainly concerned about asking Davies to come in from the cold and play 3 times a week.
When Romero is fit though, he should be asked to move left side. He’s the more senior guy so should be putting his hand up to adapt for the team’s benefit.
