He has not been the same player this season.
I actually thought we had as good a defender as anyone in the world.
I wonder what the deal is, he just doesn't seem 'at it's.
Has he had his head turned, someone whispering in his ear?
Or is something else going on?

That clip is truly damning. Not just of Romero but the lot of them. In relation to Romero this isn't the first time even this season.
As one of our 3 leaders and a WC winning player he must do better

These warrior type of players really don’t show leadership when the chips are down. the warrior stuff is all a show to make themselves look better.
It really makes me cringe when our own fans embellish that reputation after he puts in an unnecessarily aggressive challenge against a mid table team when we're 4-0 up. We don't need warriors. We need some fucking composure.

That's so bad, he doesn't even move to challenge in the air. I hope Ange has him sat in front of a telly watching this on repeat all day today.

After watching the replay it’s literally like his brain just switched off. He will be absolutely hounded by the fans if he does this at Madrid!

I really think it's time he was dropped. He's made so many high profile blunders this season already and there's no sign of him learning anything in the process. We have a very competent backup in Dragusin who must be watching and wondering just what needs to happen for him to get a chance. Seems like Romero just can't focus for a whole match. Ange needs to get tough and wield the axe, and I'd add Udogie to the 'benched' list after being heavily involved in all 3 Brighton goals.

This x 1000. No player in our team is good enough to be a certain starter regardless of form. He needs to shape up and quick or his dream move will become a distant memory. Certainly feels like he’s just killing time until he moves to Spain.

Time for the bench for me, not good enough this season. No leadership whatsoever from him. His positional play this season has been horrific.

Yea time for dragusin for a couple of games

What is the point of having competition if you don't play them ?

Quite simply shows how much more they wanted it yesterday. Embarrassing.

That clip was one of the occasions yesterday where that exact scenario played out. To be fair to Romero it seems like the whole defence just ignore the opposition and allow them free runs at us. Makes me think it’s a tactical thing. I can’t fathom how defenders at this level would keep allowing that to happen unless they were told to do that.
