Just got home from the game, does anyone know what was going on with Romero at the end?

He was visibly angry about something and went down the tunnel.

I actually think after the criticism he took last season when he got sent off and missed games, he's actually played more cautious and as a result lost a bit about him.
Remove the fire and you lose the player.
Playing with fire doesn't correct the glaring mistakes he's made this year.

Given our lack of a decent 6, and Romero’s ability to intercept and move up the pitch (plus dragusin as a CB) I really think we should move him to that position

At his best he’s one of the best CBs in the world, playing him out of position would be crazy.

I mean that’s totally VDV man but yeah blame Romero 🤷🏻‍♂️
When I rewatched the highlights after I got in, the co-commentator blamed Romero too when it was vdv marking him. Just weird. Porro should’ve definitely done more to stop the cross but sometimes you just have to appreciate a very good goal.

What? It’s quite clearly VDVs man lol
On viewing on highlights yeah but he's still dragged too far wide for my liking, especially as Bentancur was already filling that space. If he's more in line with the goal Mbeumo probably doesn't score or get as free a shot.

Some finish though.

Okay, hear me out..

Romero at RB. Get more out of his offensive qualities and we’d get a pseudo DM on the right flank.

Would be a menace.

He is an elite defender on his day but he does seem to lose concentration at least once a game. There was a moment yesterday when they went through one on one in second half, where Vicario saved it, where he was very slow to react and seemed not to sense the danger.

I still think his good qualities outweigh his errors and am hopeful that his luck will change as it seems every lapse is costing us a goal.

The biggest thing about his performance yesterday was that he only put his foot on the ball and slowed things down once. It’s usually infuriating when he does this every time he has the ball allowing the defenders to all get into their positions before we start an attack.

This thread had best be heaving tonight.

Not captain material at all. More positional errors today to go along with the rest of the season so far.

Got pelted when I suggested Radu should play instead of him.

All the defence were awful today but if he's meant to be the captain he should be managing that back line
