Similar to when Keane came back.
Keane's legs had gone, and he was a player that needed sharp pace for his style of game. In Eriksen's case that's less of an issue. For us, it was his basic touch and technique that seemed to desert him, and desire (whatever that actually means).

Did he have a bust up with a team mate while here, or am I thinking about someone else?

If it was a different player with this form over the past two years we wouldn't even entertain the idea of him returning. Really dont want him back at all, he was amazing for years but he isn't the same player

Don't think he could ever play as a proper midfielder like Lo Celso. Not enough defensive qualities. Think the money would be better spent at CB or CM. Similar to Dele, it's not clear how he'd fit into a 4-3-3 if that's what Jose's settled on.

Seems to be starting games for Inter at the moment so not sure what credit to give this story.

The only way it even remotely works is a Sissoko swap for Eriksen. Eriksen basically battles Ndombele for the attacking CM/AM role, and Lo Celso moves full time to the deeper role in the midfield. It improves our depth and quality even more, but if Eriksen is annoyed about play time at Inter, I don't see him getting more here now...

Seems crazy to ask but where would he play?! I don’t see how he fits into our current team without shipping out a few of our forwards.
Plays in the midfield 3

Would make sense if there's injury issues with Lo Celso and fitness issues with Ndombele

He just wouldn't fit back in to this side the only way we could use him now would be to get him to follow sonny and Harry around with a sandwich board saying.
See the grass isn't always greener :barefoot:

I highly doubt he would come back. I think it would block Kane’s evolution into a playmaking striker too.

I was among his biggest fans when he was here, but we really don't need him now. Lot of mileage in those legs, and we don't need another player approaching his 30s.

Let's just find a video of that assist for Dele against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final and wank ourselves dry one last time in his memory. And leave it at that.
