Farewell fella. Some good memories and some not so good. Shame you never turned up against the big teams and when it really mattered. But I wish you well.

Goals against Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Real Madrid... Assists against everyone... Let’s not get carried away. He would have gone with best wishes from most of us if not for the fact that he played as though his heart wasn’t in it for the last year. His heart wasn’t in it, but don’t play that way. Other than that he was a fantastic player for years and when he was on the top of his game so were the rest of the team. The orchestrator off the best winning football Spurs have played in many a year.

Don’t make me be nice to him. I still have gripes about how he played against Ireland.

Actually he was one of the best in the league for assists from indirect free kicks. Corners were the issue but a lot of that was due to his instructions (flat delivery to the near post). Of course at some point they should probably (he or the coaching staff) have considered changing things up, as it really wasn't working. All I'm saying the perception of him being a dead ball specialist is far from a myth.

Looking back he wasnt awful but he isnt as good as he should or could be, it is testament to him that we expected more because he is such a good and intelligent passer or the ball. I am sure we didnt help him and by always trying to aim for the near post perhaps for a flick on etc - the margin of error is smaller therefore he kept hitting the first man.

Also penalties were woeful the last two or three anyways.

I do hope he is a huge success at Inter and I think he will be.

6.5 years of playing 10 matches per season against the other top 6 + domestic cup matches + CL matches you're looking at easily 100 matches vs top teams so of course he's going to have some goals and assists vs them. Where was he in the CC final? Where was he in the CL semi final? Where was he in the CL final?

I’d rather remember him by his first 4/5 yrs with us, rather than his last 18months. He was sublime at times, great vision and first touch. His free kicks and goals from outside the box, got us back into games or won us games.

At his peak, he was a worldly. I’m glad we had him!

I bet his next stop is Ajax or FC København (Copenhagen). By the way, he looks weird in that Inter shirt.
