Well you’re off his Xmas card list for next year ain’t ya.

by the way doh means stupid I think the one you were looking for was disagree sweetie ;) ??

Stupid post gets stupid rating.

“He tries”, he lost a 70/30 in his favour against Liverpool. The only thing he tries is not to get injured which he achieves by jogging around the pitch for 90 minutes.

He should be remembered for being a key part of the best Spurs team over several decades. Tonight was a great preview of what we get with Lo Celso though. He represents the new direction we need to take with great intensity and direct running with the ball. Eriksen worked hard but he didn't put sliding tackles in like Lo Celso or have the urgency to get forward.

Eriksen was a part of an exciting team but I'm really looking forward to the new direction we take. I think Lo Celso and Ndombele are going to be a massive part of that. Neither are the same type of player as Eriksen but they're both creative in different ways and they'll add energy and penetration in midfield.

When we replaced Modric with Dembele it was a different type of player we got but it ended up being an influential one with our new manager. We have another new manager now and again we have different players to Eriksen who are more direct. I'm not sure Eriksen really suits what we need under Jose so I'm happy to see him sold.
Best Tottenham team for several decades
Nah maybe the most underachieving team for several decades
As a team I’ve really enjoyed watching us for a while but they achieved less than George Graham’s team and Juande Ramos team all said and done
Of course that isnt down to Eriksen but nah top four trophies don’t count
They allowed us to dream I’ll give them that and as I said it was enjoyable to witness

He’s been shite for ages, trots around looking like he’s getting back to defend. Not sure if the game has changed around how he plays and that has stopped his performances, or he’s just not motivated anymore? Want him gone regardless of the fee. He only cost 11m so let’s just draw a line under it and make sure any player not willing to sign a new contract with 2 years left are pushed out.

Won’t let me edit its a shame they never won nothing they were very good and in a way you’re right they were a team
Disappointing that all they achieved was CL qualification and they got a few monkeys off our back (finishing above goons beating Chelsea)
And challenging for a couple titles

Some sounds like his poor form due to being wanting out is only the past 12-18 months. Good grief. Just look through this thread - probably only 2 out of the 6 years he's with us he was great. The rest he just didn't perform as well as he could, especially during the period he was under the criticism of performing alot better for his country than his club. And even then his country coach was asking for more consistency from him.

He has gotten everyone in the world to believe he is really that great, and hardworking on-field for the matter. I don't doubt his stats, which also came during the best two years he had with us. Is no coincident we were the best when he was the best. So many times it was absolutely infuriating because his form literally determines our results and on his bad days we suffered. He was that influential. A legend would be, if he could go the extra mile, knowing he could carry the team and win us something, but like he always does, just did the bare minimum. Not as if he didn't know how he can affect the team. If he doesn't care, why should we?

Just remember, even at his best, no big teams came in for him with concrete interest. Almost like a karma of working just enough, his dream and opportunities of a big move also stop short of the next breakthrough.

This is genuinely trending towards deal breaker with Mourinho for me, Eriksen should not be playing considering his situation. Not only has Eriksen been mugging off the club off the by dragging out this transfer since 5 days after the UCL Final, he's been absolutely appalling. Brings no value whatsoever at the moment. You'd think even if he wasn't trying hard he might accidentally manage to do something decent every so often.

It's an absolute disgrace to the shirt for him to keep playing, imagine if you're one of the players he's getting picked over. If I was Oliver Skipp I would be on the phone to my agent immediately. It's not fair or meritocratic to let Eriksen keep playing. I refuse to believe it's possible to build a winning culture with this going on.

That's a bit unfair. Generally he's been poor, but he scored that free kick against Norwich a couple of weeks ago, he's played a few excellent passes and I've even seen him clear the ball a few times in the last few games. I agree that he probably doesn't deserve to be selected at the moment, but it seems that people are ignoring anything good that he does.

He even made a tackle about 6 weeks ago

so Eriksen is off, we know this, but whom else is off ? Wanyama obviously

the reason I ask, we just signed a Fernandez and we want the other one, then there is some world class CM who is not a work in progress assuming it comes off, then Eze in the summer and talk of O'Neil then Clarke coming back and a few others on loan who may come back

some thing like 6 in 2 out (that we know of). Highly likely those 6 wont all happen but thats still a lot of rebuilding so there must be a few more on the way out

Find it interesting that some of the names suggesting we should just sell at a loss are also the same that say we should just pay a bit more for others.

As if there’s no link between those two things. ;)

Classic SC.

Sell our deadwood at a loss and pay whatever the selling club wants for our transfer targets. It's a wonder why these people are whinging everyday on here rather than running multinational corporations.

Danish press reporting Inter have upped their offer to 17m€. Danish mate told me, so no direct source I’m afraid.

Nah, best team since at least the 80's, by a country mile. Can't compare winning trophies then and now. It's never been more difficult to win stuff (thanks Chelsea/City and that even bottom clubs don't need to sell thanks to TV money, thus they have all improved)

Whilst I take your point. It's all relative to opponents then and now. Back then, no side was really as good as the current sides in the league. Whilst the team we had at the beginning of last season was excellent, it still wasn't successful in terms of silverware. Poch' definitely coached them excellently, but he still had an empty trophy cabinet and will be remembered as the nearly man.

If true, that sounds about right. Maybe put some sort of relatively small bonus on top of that for if they win the league and let’s just move on.

The implication was that this is not the best team in decades. Because we never won a trophy. Are people seriously saying that the 90's Tottenham was better than under Poch just because they won a cup? Or that winning the league cup under Graham was a better team? Winning trophies doesn't mean your the best, it doesn't necessarily mean you're very good. League position is a more accurate gauge on how good a team has consistently been.

Yesterday Eriksen was certainly trying, but clearly the circumstances are affecting his game.

Personally I would rather keep him for the season than get 10 million for him now. Near to 20 million then fine, we move on, but I would love us to loan a player of Eriksen's calibre for the remainder of the season for 10 million, even an out of sorts one who was intent on being elsewhere next season.. Over the last few years he has created more than double the number of chances than any other Spurs player, so even though he is now half the player he was, it still makes him our most creative outlet.

I am sure the window being open is going to affect him much more. If he stays he will likely settle down a bit. He is also the fittest player we have right now. Even his shadow is worth more than 10 million for the remainder of the season.

Not for me, loved what he has given to the club but his performances this season have been pathetic. I don't want an unhappy player in the team when we have the likes of Lo Celso on the bench.

We can't afford to keep giving Eriksen gametime in the hope that he somehow finds his form that got him to the position he is in now to be able to negotiate a big pay day. We need to find a new way to get this team creating without him and now because next season the pressure is going to be huge on this squad, especially if we don't have CL football.
