If today was his last game for us then thanks for everything Christian. He's been exceptional for us and I don't buy the idea that he hasn't been trying recently. It made me sad hearing the boos on Saturday and seeing on social media that he'd been booed again today.

Fingers crossed we negotiate this deal soon. That way it takes the option away from Jose to play him. He was a bit better today but all parties just need to move on.

Was one of my favourite spurs players to watch and gave us some great moments over the years. Gutting how badly its fallen apart over the last year or so but I guess at least it doesn't hurt like losing him in his pomp would have.

Yeah, it could just be coincidence that his form dipped when he made it clear he wanted to leave. Bloody long dip to be fair.

He should be remembered for being a key part of the best Spurs team over several decades. Tonight was a great preview of what we get with Lo Celso though. He represents the new direction we need to take with great intensity and direct running with the ball. Eriksen worked hard but he didn't put sliding tackles in like Lo Celso or have the urgency to get forward.

Eriksen was a part of an exciting team but I'm really looking forward to the new direction we take. I think Lo Celso and Ndombele are going to be a massive part of that. Neither are the same type of player as Eriksen but they're both creative in different ways and they'll add energy and penetration in midfield.

When we replaced Modric with Dembele it was a different type of player we got but it ended up being an influential one with our new manager. We have another new manager now and again we have different players to Eriksen who are more direct. I'm not sure Eriksen really suits what we need under Jose so I'm happy to see him sold.

Are we going to even replace him? I can certainly imagine the thought process at the club to be that we've just bought a midfielder in, have Ndombele and Sissoko to return and still yet to properly integrate Lo Celso in.

Sell him, save on wages you would otherwise pay to the end of his contract and put the money towards Bruno :wacky:

As far as right now, I’m pretty confident we could put Lamela or Lo Celso in the roles he’s occupying and we will be better for it. I think a true replacement type for him will likely be done in the summer, though.

Find it interesting that some of the names suggesting we should just sell at a loss are also the same that say we should just pay a bit more for others.

As if there’s no link between those two things. ;)

Played well, he tries, difficult situation for him, people being very harsh on a guy who’s been a great servant for us for a long time.

Imagine being in an office job for 4 years and just wanting a change but being told you have to stay for another 6-12 months, you’d keep trying but it’s natural to not be as enthusiastic or perform as well, it’s like doing a handover at work you’ll do it because you have to but you don’t really give a fuck.

he wants a new challenge fair play to the lad, sure I see why some think he shouldn’t be picked but the abuse he’s getting is out of order.

great player for us and will wish him well, Shane he didn’t get the move he wanted in the summer.
The guy had the opportunity to win the CL 6 months ago but stunk the place out when we needed him most. No one showered themselves in glory that night but for a guy that thought he was going to be a galactico he should have done better. That’s when the chapter on him closed for me

Please don't bring logic into this!

Hope Spurs and Inter can come to an agreement soon.

The quicker this whole saga is done and dusted the better for all concerned.

Perhaps but it’s hardly Eriksen a fault alone we didn’t win the CL, overall he’s produced far far far more good moments for us than he has poor moments or performances, some people are very quick to forget.

great player and seems like a good guy.

He didn’t get the move he wanted in the summer for a reason. He came out and told the world how he wanted to leave Spurs after months of pathetic performances and then this season he’s been even worse.

He’s paid millions per year to play football. Better players than him, Modric for example, have not received the move they wanted but put in professional performances the next season.

Real Madrid paid £100m for Hazard, who had one year left on his contract. If Eriksen were anywhere near the level he is in his own head then they would’ve done the same for him instead of leaving us to struggle to get rid of him.

He's been awful recently but he DID try really hard for the first half yesterday. Will miss him.
