With the benefit of hindsight, the deal to do was probably sell Eriksen and bring in Maddison when he went to Leicester. However, if we'd done that I'm sure Levy would have got absolute pelters for it. In the meantime, deals like Ramsey to Juve have had a massive 'kerching' factor in a lot of players thinking and will have agents salivating uncontrollably. To bring things up to date, how many of us would be OK with flogging Harry Kane or Son for masses of money now rather than hope they can steer us to a bit of success in the near future?

Obviously in hindsight we needed to get Maddison or Grealish and sell Eriksen. Agree the amount of crap Levy would have gotten selling Eriksen would have been enormous. Selling club, no ambition, etc. would have been endless.

Also, hasn’t there been itk each summer that Eriksen was still making noise about maybe re-signing? Don’t think it can be quite as clear cut that he just said 4 years ago that he’s gone.

Finally, no way to anticipate that his game would go to total shit. If he hadn’t been wretched for the last 12-18 months, there’d have been a bidding war between RM and PSG and Barca and Juve and we’d have been able to sell for at least a decent fee.

All that said, at this point, if we can get Inter to pay 20 for him lets bite their hand off.

If they'll pay anything at all for him we should snap their hands off at this stage.

The difference between how he and Alderweireld have handled themselves on the pitch has been stark, and has not reflected at all well on Eriksen.

Could only watch it from home today as the boy was ill. What exactly happened when Eriksen went off as I missed that bit???

Eriksen wasted one berth of the team. We were playing with 10 men in the first half. He can fuck off to the edge of the world. The greatest mistake Mourinho would have done is trusting in him who had not repaid his faith except for the free kick he scored. Disgusting player. Never hated a player so much. He should do himself a favour and sit out matches if he can't commit himself instead of hurting the team with his casual self.

I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that was one of the weakest displays I’ve seen from a player for our club. He just cannot play for us anymore. We will be so much better (as we saw) by playing someone like Lamela or Lo Celso in his place. I am so disappointed in him; once my favorite player, now this.

He was totally and utterly dreadful from the first minute to his last on the pitch. I genuinely hope that’s it for him, he really isn’t as good as he thinks he is and I’m more than happy to see the back of him.

I honestly never want to see him and Rose ever play for us again.

It's bit different though. Rose, despite his comments from few years ago, got a bad injury and it seems like he's lost a fair bit of pace because of it. He's just slower, and despite not being as fast as Walker, his pace was one of his bigger assets. Basically it seems he's just not good enough to be a starter for top4 team anymore. Effort is there.

Eriksen is just playing exactly like he doesn't want to be there. It's managers fault that they keep starting him. If he signed a contract I'd understand why we'd play a player who's not in form, as we know how good Eriksen can be, but if he's not gonna be there in six month's it'd be logical to start players that we plan the future with

I don’t disagree with a word of that mate.

For the reasons you have given, I personally never want to see either of them play for us again. ?

Real shame how things have gone with Eriksen; should have been a club legend, but ultimately will be seen as a bit of a tit by Spurs fans

He's only got himself to blame though

100% this. If we can’t sell them in the next 20 days, buy out their contracts. For some reason managers can’t help themselves. They should never ever play for us again.

I don’t understand what managers are so afraid of. They are wretched. Literally anybody on the squad is a better option.

We very well might have won this game if we had started Sess and Gio.

You might find he's quite influential in the dressing room, so Jose is just easing him out.

Ultimately the manager is setting things up for next season.
