If Eriksen doesn’t move to a club in Jan he should NOT be involved at all for the rest of the season.

Would send out a terrible message.

Our players are dropping like flies though aren’t they. We might need him. (My preference is obviously for him to be sold yesterday if everyone was fit and firing).

If true from Herc (salt and all that) its time to freeze him out when all is fit. Else he’s sending the wrong signal to the squad. I reckon Jose knows that, but he’s still playing him because he thinks we have a higher win probability. And the options in Dier Skipp Winks is not good enough.

Still struggling to entertain the fact that he's probably going for free. Especially when reading Herc's comments that Eriksen told the club he'd not be renewing his contract 4...yep 4 feckin years ago.

We well should've been seeing at least £70-80 million if we acted a couple of seasons back.

Yes we can argue that he was important to us then, helping secure champions league. But I for one, could've accepted his sale if knowing he wasn't planning on staying past current contract, and if funds from his sale were all reinvested into another quality AM.

Feels like been shafted twice.(n)

Thing is, unless we got an offer from Barca or Real he wasn't leaving anyway ... People will grind their teeth over this but he literally held the club to ransom - it was all on his terms.

I beg to differ, I think if we’d of sold him then at the time they’re would of been murders & us looking small time and selling one of our best players to a bigger club. Sadly with him here for the last couple of seasons we’ve been so close but not won any silverware. It hurts us all big time that he wants to leave but for a huge chunk of his career here he was brilliant and he’s going to be a hard player to replace

Which makes it all the stranger that we got that ITK (not from our club sources) saying there was a deal agreed with club and Barca in Summer 18, which Schoots (his agent) f.....d up. Its in this thread somewhere from last year.

The same window they bought De Jong?

Well, I wonder why.

My case in point being, would so many be up in arms if actually aware that he informed 4 years ago he wouldn't be signing a new contract, especially if we kept him for another two years and then cashed in.

I can totally see that had to be the way forward based on Herc's info. Sell him then or lose for nothing.

Alas, it looks like we've ended up with the latter.

I know what you mean BUT we are talking about our Club that can’t even come clean on injuries etc let alone explain to us fans that CE wasn’t interested in extending his contract again, therefore we’d of all been greasing up our pitchforks

I agree.

However, if the club had have sold him but done what Liverpool did and immediately brought in two key players, I think it would have been quickly forgotten about (if they'd have been a success if course).

Going forward the club need to set a standard now. Any players refusing to sign extensions and are approaching 2 years left then the feelers need to be put out to sell. I realise it's not as straight forward as that as some players may just be waiting to see if the club's ambition matches there's or may just been holding out for more money but we simply can't afford to be operating with numerous players potentially leaving but being key members at the same time.

I remember when the Madrid rumours first started early season 18/19, and I'm not sure if any contact or bids had been made but if Levy was resisting for 100m+ then he needs to realise that many clubs will not do business at those rates for players like Eriksen especially when they're not desperate for him.
