He would go with my blessing if he did a Ramsey or Modric ( be one of the best players in the team before leaving ). But playing like he can’t be arsed and stinking out the place is seriously leaving a bitter taste in the mouth and souring the memory of him.

Eriksen showing his dislike for the club. Will reject any attempt to sell him in January, will leave at the end of the season with no reward for the club.

We wont get a penny, dont even try to sell him, just get rid on a free. Save the wages... for someone who wants to be here and will be here and who Poch wants

If he had told the club 2 years ago he wants to leave and won't sign a new contract then fine, but he really has dicked us around. He shouldn't play for us again, he clearly hasn't got the stomach for it anyway.

He's gonna fuck himself up to the point where he won't be able to get into the team - he'll need minutes and form going into the Euros.

I would be interested to see the stats but as far as I can see, Eriksen still covers as much ground as anyone in the team. He is in a real crisis of confidence and can't do anything right at present but not sure that is a lack of commitment. I won't be surprised to see Poch continuing to pick him because he puts the effort in - same scenario with Sissoko previously.

His actions over the last 4 years have shown he was not willing to accept a new contract.
Or do you think the club renegotiated every other players contracts almost seemingly every season apart from his by mistake.
He hasn’t dicked us around one bit, the club have been totally aware of his position for years, the club are totally liable for the position we are in, we could have cashed in, over last few years, but took conscious decision not no, and it was probably right decision as without him doubt we would have been CL regulars.

He doesn’t cover ground for any purpose other than that stat though. He never actually presses (neither does anyone else atm) and he never tackles. It’s just pointless running to chase after players he couldn’t be bothered to mark/track in the first place

Absolute bollocks. Scorned fan.
His tackles and interceptions stats are as high as all other comparable players, such as Lamela, Son, Moura, only difference he doesn’t charge around like a headless chicken, dive in to them and give away anywhere nearly as many free kicks.

There is no question, that even though he has not been up to his exceptional standards of prior years, even this season, we have struggled massively when he is not on the field, and looked a hell of a lot better when he has been on it.

At his best he covers just about every blade of grass and every single thing he does has a purpose

There is no doubt he's not 100% on it now but still does a good job for us. He wants a change and a new challenge and has never hidden that fact

Problem is we haven’t got rid nor have an adequate replacement at the moment

I often think about what I would do if I was a professional player.

The way I see it, you can only realistically expect 10 seasons in your prime - you might get less if you're unlucky or stupid, you might get more if you're dedicated and look after yourself...or lucky.

With this in mind, I'm always staggered by how casually some players are willing to throw away a season. I can only assume the reality of how short their careers after doesn't set in for some.

Even worse is the aftermath - spurs are very good at looking after dedicated players when they retire, so throwing several years of service down the pan is equally as risky, should things not go well later on

What nonsense. He's not showing dislike for the club in the slightest. It's absolutely his right to try and maximise his earnings. Did Aaron Ramsey show his dislike for arsenal by doing the exact same thing?
Regardless of whether he cares or not, if he's got his sights on leaving in the next few months he's naturally not going to be focused and 100% committed to the long term project. We can and should expect professionalism but there's no way to get him showing 100% desire and motivation now tbh.

If this is all true then I have no clue why he is still anywhere near the squad.

Because we dont have anyone else who could do his job and he knows it.

Need to be more fair to Eriksen.

Facts:
He has played for this club many years and before this season no one questioned him.
We know that he is paid less than 6-figures/week (ie: less than what he's worth) and this has been the case throughout his contract.
There was not a single instance when he did a Rooney or a Tevez and either refused to play or try to pushed through a move in a distasteful way.
He has never hidden that he wanted to play elsewhere if possible.

What I believe is going on:
The club refuses to offer him a 'good enough deal'.
Or 'better' clubs aren't offering enough for DL to sell.
If I was Eriksen i would still give it my all; the difference is if it's a 50/50 ball the sub-conscience would take over and you wouldnt go for it; i.e: you would only 'do your job' and not try to over-deliver. It's a natural reaction, if you are just an employee.

The problem is we as a team isn't good enough to weather this, especially when someone of his unique skill-set is only 'trying to do his job'.

You could equally point fingers at the club; why did we leave it so late before we buy a replacement (this season)? Why do we do it only after CL final? In the end something has to give and it's unfair to assume Spurs as a club is totally in the right.

Honestly if i was a teammate of his I would advise him to stay out of my way. That he is unhappy with the club is one thing, but to let down teammates and presumably long term friends so dismissively just speaks volumes to me about him as a man.

This made me laugh, thanks

He's been on poverty wages for quite a while. He's going to be leaving on a free and his signing on bonus will make up for that.

Same with Toby and probably Jan.

Poverty wages? Poor Christian, don't know how he keeps finding money for his hair implants.
