One of the worst performances I’ve EVER seen ANY Spurs player have and honestly don’t think I’m exaggerating. Hard to imagine it’s actually possible to play worse without actually throwing the ball in your own net. His pass completion must have been below 50%.

True, but Villa should exactly what he's capable of. If he's dropped and we don't win, Poch will get crucified for not playing him.
I think Eriksen’s role in that comeback was purely coincidental. Villa were absolutely drained and we scored a lucky equaliser and goal to go 2-1 up.
Someone said "the villa game shows his value " well in that game it was the formation change that affected that game and that was taking off Winks who was playing deep and putting on Eriksen more forward . He was in fact not involved in any of the 3 goals .
It is a misconception to say we won because of him and as I say we won because of a system change .
I believe @stevenurse , your assessment of Villa situation with regards to Eriksen's performance is wrong in my opinion. I am with @SargeantMeatCurtains and @buckley as this is the way I saw it as well. Eriksen came on and was able to do well because of the changes in the second half giving a him a lot of space to work. As Buckley said, he was not involved in any of the goals. He was not the game changer in that game as you and the media are spouting

It is funny that many assume he will get a free transfer to Madrid or Barca. If news reports are right and he has an offer of 200k per week from Levy (10 million a year for 4-6 years) he is certainly not going to take less than that from a team getting him on a free (see Ramsey).

So the question is whether his performances in the big games (CL for this purpose) make him worthy of a 60 million investment with zero resale. He isn't free. It is just a free transfer. With the top clubs stuck paying 10's of millions to players they want to get rid of, I am not convinced that he gets that deal from a top team unless he has a really good season. The CL final will have hurt his reputation 100%.

To be clear, I like him and want him to sign with us....but we ain't shopping at the same store as Real, Barca, PSG, Bayern or Juve....so it is far from certain they decide to spend big money on him.

Finally, the Ramsey to Juve deal doesn't help - they have over paid (like Utd with Alexis and Real with Bale) and eventually the penny will drop with these top teams.

I may be completely wrong but I remember an interview with the Denmark boss towards the end of last year where he said CE supposedly had a chronic stomach injury and I'm sure he has been poor since that came out.
He definitely looks more lethargic and leggy, he may not have gone into to tackles much but in his prime he would be heavily involved in the press and covered lots of ground.

We need his running stats to see if this is the case....anyone ?

Very ott. For his standards it was his worst game. You cant compare him to players like Gilberto and hossam ghaly

Hard to believe his pass completion was 78%. He seemed to lose the ball everytime he touched it was comical at times,Eboue levels.

The perplexing thing is Eriksen says he needs to move to get a new challenge
If he feels he needs a new challenge then maybe someone should say to him play like the old Eriksen this season, if he can remember who that is. Breaks my heart coz when the old Eriksen played well we won the match pure and simple & that seems like a long long time ago now, sadly

I made a thread in here about our XI after the international break and said that Eriksen needed to earn his place. Quite a few of you said I was mad as he's one of our best players and he needs to start... Enough is enough, his heart isn't in it anymore and he needs some time on the bench to think about if this is how he wants to end his career with us. He's reaching Ozil levels of inconsistency when we've got committed players who deserve a place ahead of him.

He’s having a fucking laugh if he thinks Real Madrid would be interested in taking him, even on a free. I can see why Zidane is not interested and putting in performances like he has for over a year, he’d get eaten alive by their demanding, entitled fickle fans.
Even at his best it can be argued he’s not quite elite level, we are his highest level and he’s even fallen way below that standard for over a year.
People will say “oh we’ll only appreciate him when he’s gone blah blah” appreciate what? Half arsed performances for over a year and never taking a game by the scruff of the neck? ( especially when it really mattered like the CL final last season. When we lost Bale, Modric and Berbatov, those were players we missed. Eriksen is not in their class ( on past years performance ) and I’m sure we will cope without his best Ozil impersonation.

I think it all depends how much he wants to play for Real Madrid. I think he'd happily take £200k per week to play for a team who apparently are the only team he wants to play for. If he starts asking for £400k per week (like Ramsay), I think he's pricing himself out of a move. No way Real will pay £400k per week based on his performances over the last few months.

Let's hope Juventus want him so we can do a deal in January where they can take him off our hands early if they knock a few quid off the Dybala price.

The Eriksen fan club is just loyally blinkered

he needed backup 2 years ago, that was ignored now hes about to go on a free. Shambles from the club to ignore 2 windows to provide him cover that could step up.
