Basically saying he’s been made to stay at Spurs against his own will. Real Madrid just don’t want you, mate.

He won’t sign a new contract like he said he might (if no club wanted him) and now he’s going to fuck us over in January.

The club have definitely fucked it in this situation but Eriksen has no right to make out he’s a victim.

Honestly think he will get sidelined we have so many options. Plus the Lo Celso situation is a little bit weird although we’ve virtually bought him we haven’t actually. In a sense he’s a little bit on trial and you’d think he’s gonna get preference over a guy that clearly wants to leave. If Lo Celso starts and we are winning I don’t think Eriksen will get much of a look in. Obviously that will change if we aren’t winning.

I think you're right, Eriksen needs to be very careful of how the situation develops from here on in, he obviously has no intention of staying and feels some way at the club and he knows that he is a key player, but things can change very quickly.

So what happens if/when Lo Celso starts to get up to speed because no matter what we're going to be prioritising him because he is our future. Eriksen will need minutes because of the Euro's so he can't afford to down tools or become lax, it's going to be very interesting.

It's also worth watching the Dybala situation as well.

Sounds like he's 99% out of the door, to be honest. If he wants to be "in control", he doesn't sign a new contract and somebody agrees a deal with him in January.

It won't happen but we just need to try to get Dybala in during the January transfer window so that we have a ready made replacement and half a season to bed him in.

Interesting reading of his words. To me there's a hint of embarrassment that clearly the clubs he wanted to go to didn't want him. And he has to wear the fact he's made himself look a bit silly by saying he wants a new challenge, but the challenge he wanted didn't want him.

I wouldn't say the club has fucked it, we've tried to tie him down to a new deal and him having refused to sign I suspect we would have sold had a club from abroad come in for him that he agreed to go to. Don't forget we also are supposed to have let him talk to Manchester United but he turned them down as didn't want to go to another club in England.

It's a weird situation as he wants Real Madrid but they just don't want him.

If they did I suspect he'd be there now and we'd have had an additional replacement alongside Lo Celso.

As has also been said will be interesting as Lo Celso gets up to speed as if he does well he'd be in over Eriksen for me (although I'd also be interested to see them in the side together as would be nice to have a couple of really creative intelligent midfielders in there).

The difference between him and Toby is just insane. From a model professional to basically asking to be exiled from the first team. Give him his wish, Poch. Send him to the reserves.

There’s no other way to read his words other than he wants out. He’s continuing to take a page out of Madrid’s book. He wants out so bad, fine. Hawk him out to Portugal and give him a choice. Portugal or the reserves with no first team action the rest of the year. No room for people like Eriksen in this squad. Just having him around could be toxic.

It's not that deep, he's hardly refusing to train/play.

Just get his head straight get him to refocus.

Nothing in the Danish interview pointed to Eriksen being embarrassed or trying to make himself a victim. Some ridiculous hot takes in here.

I think he will see what kind of offers he gets when he is a free agent. Maybe he will sign an extension if the big spanish clubs isn’t in for him then. But lots of other clubs will be hanging around. Juventus might also offer him a contract and Man Utd might jump in again.

But there is definitely a bigger chance for Eriksen when teams don’t have to deal with Levy.

I’m just happy we have him for another season, because it makes our team more likely to win games. Also lol at fans that wants us to not play Eriksen and lower our chances of winning. That’s just dumb.

I'm also happy that we have him for another season, I also don't think that our fans (ok some maybe) do not want him to be part of our team. What we do want is a CE who is focused and has his head in Tottenham. Thats when we will win games.

But it is down to him, because for once we are in a better position, GLC as other posters are rightly saying is the Future and if he does well, and CE's head drops, he could find himself out of the team which when you are looking for a big deal in Jan/summer could be detrimental to him.

Poch has an interesting problem with the amount of depth we have now, I'd say respectfully you want to see the players who are committed long term get the nod in the starting 11s but it'll come down to results.

I reckon if he had played a blinder in the Madrid CL final...he'd be there now.....but he spectacularly didn't.
Madrid doesnt take kindly to players who pick and choose when to play. Especially when they fail to pick the biggest game a club could ever play in.

Thing is, he is in charge of his own destiny. By running down his contract and having a pick of clubs who want to sign him he is doing just that.

Pretty clear he won’t be signing a new deal.

Really don’t recognise this bullshit. Eriksen played in Son twice only to see him squander both chances, and made Allison make a decent save too.

Liverpool’s defence were one of the meanest in Europe last season for good reason, they can shut down the best players.
