It will be really really interesting to see if he'll be let go in case we fail to get Dybala. Personally I can't see him being here come 1st of September.

Following this logically over the last year, I’d say there is less than a 1% chance he signs a new contract. How often does a player let his contract run down then do this very thing at the last minute ? Almost never.

He wants a leave and a change of scene. There’s only a few select clubs he would want to go to. Making himself a free opens up a much larger selection of clubs of the type he wants, that would be willing and able to bring him in without an excessive fee attached.

The likes of Madrid, Barca, Bayern et al may not have the disposable income to prioritise adding him to the squad, as it may be required elsewhere, but that doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t be very keen to add a quality addition to their rotation without said fee being required.

I’d bet Eriksen would like either of the Spanish big two, playing 30 odd games a season instead of the 50 plus he does for us.

To be honest, none of us have a clue about what he’s actually thinking.

Maybe he’s perfectly happy here but wanted to see the window out in case RM did want him.

Maybe he was waiting to see if we really were going to strengthen the team and allow some of the burden on him to lessen.

We had some “ITK” but who knows whether that was strategically leaked to help folks feel better if we did sell him.

Maybe the United stuff was all a ploy to try to draw out RM?

We will just have to see.

Really hope he gives us another look after these incomings. Go fuck yourself Zidane!

This transfer is everything that is wrong with having a different window close across Europe. Every premier league club is at a disadvantage and ultimately we will lose him for less than his value post our window close. He's pretty foolish to go to RM they seem to be in a right mess at the moment and clearly prefer Pogba. Who wants to go to a club and be the second choice.

Can see Madrid low balling us now on the price for Eriksen and completely turning his head, hopefully not, but that lot are fit for anything

He will be sold by the end of August and our netspend again will be negligible.

It annoys me that we’ve failed to move the team forward. Yes midfield looks much better right now but when Eriksen gets sold to Madrid we will he left with who doing the AM role? Will we just run GLC into the ground like we did with Eriksen?

The whole idea was to sign two AMs, but we will again be left with just one, if GLC even plays that role for us.

I guess we might be playing rather differently. I think we'll be good, and we finally shifted some shite, if not all.

Funny how whatever scenic route the transfer window satnav takes us we end up back at Net Spend Parkway though :)

spot on. Our season and strength now all depends on if Eriksen stays or not but most likely he wont in which case we haven't strengthened enough to challenge for the title but if we'd got Dybala and/or if Eriksen stays and gets his head down or ideally signs a new contract then we are in a pretty strong position this one player will now make a huge difference.

Everyone who thinks all is good and window was great, will realize how much this team is gonna miss Eriksen if he gets sold.

Yep we need him to stay, sign a new contract and be fully motivated. Unfortunately I’ve a feeling that will be the option out of the three potential available scenarios that won’t happen.

If his head’s still turned then we have to at least keep him til January.

Maybe offload him for £30M if we can to stop a pre contract.

Then try to get someone else in

I'm hoping he signs a one year extension, stays here, kick it forward with us til the end of this season, and then have an agreement to be sold next summer. (Kinda like Modric, who stayed, and did fking superb his last season, and then went to RM)
