Sidestepping the fact that I clearly said you can't blame Levy**...........I have no idea, just as you have no idea who may or may not have come in for them. Sometimes you know, it's OK to point at your dad and say "I think you fucked up". It's no big deal, I don't want him assassinated or anything. I'm not assembling a mob to run him out of the club, I think he's made a mistake, even he can do that you know, he's not the shining knight of fucking everything.

Fuck me, you really can't even slightly criticise him around here.

I think he fucked up. There. *Stamps foot and pokes tongue out :D

**There, I lied, I do blame Levy :woot: Fuck me, that'll have them mobilising the troops.

Well done mate, I used to be part of the BSoDL but got booted out as I didn’t post positive DL crap to the daily ‘quota’, or something.

I just have to take a different route home after work each day, but it’s not all bad. They’re a vindictive bunch :cautious:

It’s bloody clear Toby made up his mind to go on a free along time ago and probably Eriksen seen Ramsey’s antics. Eriksen has even done the same thing at Ajax by letting his contract run down.

Levy has made many’s a mistake but rewarding players with a continued contract isn’t one of them, we seem to forget the talent we have managed to sign down season after season. People seem to forget Levy done his best to hold on to Modric for an extra season when he wanted out and turned down more money for Bale to get him abroad.

Problem here is some fans can’t believe the players they watch week in week out aren’t as committed to the club as they are. We are just an EMPLOYER and football is just a career. If fans wanna stick their tongues up our players asses and give them a reach around at the same time feel free, but in my opinion the players fat ass is blinding them to what is actually going on.

Of course he is going to stay, he wants a big payday next summer and gets an easy ride now.

Shame but he has led us on and now it is too late.

I hope we demote him and he sees little football this year if any, really I'm pretty miffed if this is true.

Bit worried about having a disinterested Eriksen here all season and then getting charged a fortune for a replacement next year when he leaves on a free.

Hope he goes and we get GLC and BF or Dybala in.

We all thought that would be the case with Toby too, and he played well for the most part last year. There are some strange goings on at the mo.

Or, what if he’s done exactly what he planned on all along and the end of the EPL window was his “deadline?” He’s had the opportunity to look at other options and found no takers where he’d like to go. So now he’s going to buckle down, re-sign and re-invest in the team.

Not saying it’s likely, but it’s not entirely farfetched.

Although it's nice to have brand new shiny toys, as long as he's fully committed to us, I'd love it if Eriksen signed a new contract and stayed with us.

Ndombele
Sessengon
Lo Celso
and Eriksen new contract and staying would be a fantastic window.

Disagree. Though the situation isn't ideal as we would've preferred to have received a fee for him, he can still help us win some silverware this season. He'll still want to put in good performances so he can have his pick of teams vying for his signature. And though it's an absolute long shot, maybe he'll change his mind later on and renew with us next year after winning all those things

I mean, I don't want to call myself cleverer than 80% of SpursCommunity*, but Eriksen seemingly rejecting Man Utd and now increasingly likely to stay with us and move to whichever club he chooses to on a Bosman next summer is exactly what I've been saying would probably happen for a while now in this thread. And he has played well enough for long enough for us that I wouldn't begrudge him his move.

*because I don't want to sell myself short

Sounds like exactly the sort of thing we'd leak if it did turn out he's likely to stay...

I like this and I want to believe it... but if he'd made this promise to Levy in 2017 why would he even enter into talks with United in the first place?

If Eriksen stays, there's no chance he'll be disinterested. If he wants a glamorous move, he has to play glamorous football. Real will have no shortage of players clamouring to play for them. They're not likely to go for Eriksen, IMO, if he's engaged in a 12-month sulk and played like shit.

if we get a hungry and motivated eriksen this season i would be very happy with him staying, but i cant help but wonder if thats gonna be the case. Can he get over the dissapontment of being ditched by madrid and find his old self, or does he need a change..

imperative that he signs that contract.

He says he wants to leave publicly, may be ok for you but it doesn't sit well with me.

Bit like your girlfriend saying "I don't want to sleep with you anymore but I will because the stud with the bigger :chicken: than you is making me wait so he can have me cheap next year dear".

Quite possibly he didn't.
More than likely the club were trying to flog him and approached Man Utd, rather than any hint from Eriksen's agent.

Really don’t want him now after all this. The guy came out the day after a shite performance in the CL final and said he wants to leave. Screw him and Dybala instead please

I think Eriksen does not fit the Zidane model of generally forthright characters. Eriksen is like Bale a more quiet type who just gets on with his game. Eriksen we have always k Ken wanted to get to one of the big two in Spain. Maybe now he realise they would only take him as a makeweight squad player. He is better than that so maybe he is coming to terms with that and preppy commit to a team that with investment have shown can compel with the best.
