People aren’t allowed to change their minds, apparently. Well fuck that for a way to run a football club.

I‘d have him back if he wants to come. He’s capable of being superb.

I was surprised watching the Amazon documentary how sentimental Levy was about Eriksen and how much he agonised about letting him go. It was pretty amicable sale in the end so I wouldn't be surprised if Levy was open to bringing him back if the finances work out.

Stranger things have happened. Exhibit A. Keane. Exhibit B. Defoe.

Not sure those examples are stranger tbh.

Keane left for a (sorry) bigger club, Defoe left because he was out of favour.

Eriksen, for one reason or another, seemed like he didn't want to play for the club for at least 12 months before he finally left. He also talked openly about looking for a new challenge.

It would be truly bizarre for him to then return to the club six months after leaving.

Eriksen was an exceptional player for us over the years, and one of Levy's biggest transfer successes (covered our blushes over the Bale deal really). It does not surprise me at all he was reluctant to lose him. The amount of great goals he has scored and assisted for us should not easily be forgotten despite how things ended up.

One of our best players in the PL era but don't want him back. Think he was one of the painful losses we had to go through in order to rebuild this team. He clearly lost his desire to play for us and the club lost all faith in him. I also don't think he will fit into the team now without scarficing Lo Celso or Alli.

I dont think this will happen but wouldnt be against it In the slightest. We know hes capable of being superb and in the 3rd episode Jose does mention to Levy about how much our play improves with him on the pitch.

And Eriksen will not be interested. He’d reject us off hand immediately. I cannot believe this is allowed in the itk thread.

Did he give you the truth about the Vertonghen stories as well while he was passing this onto you or did he just call you this week to express his delight at being on the bench in Milan and utter delight to be away from that mean nasty Harry Kane stealing his goals?

Yeah, things change and people make mistakes. If he has realised the grass isn’t any greener in Milan, and he wants to work hard again at Spurs I’d have him back too. For the right price.

To everyone suggesting we won't pay a higher fee than what he was sold for, you're not taking into account contract length.
He was sold with 6 months remaining, hence £16m. He's now got 4 odd years left so is worth more to Inter.

With GLC not appearing in any pre-season games (hopefully we get news this week on him), if the right price came up and Eriksen was open to it yes please.

Obviously depending on GLC, if he's injured and for how long!

I would't be against this for the right price - especially if they still owe us money for him.

He’s an intelligent guy but will he be motivated in the same way? He seems relatively humble but I just can’t see why he would choose to come back.

though if we could get him back to his 2017/18 levels, which I doubt, he’d still be one of the best creative players in the league

I don't think anyone is disputing that. Inter will rightly ask for a bigger fee based on the fact that he's got 4 years left.

It's just whether we would be prepared to buy a player back for considerably more money than we sold him for 6 months ago, after he ran his contract down causing us to sell him well below market value in the first place.

My answer to whether we would do that would be emphatically no, and in this instance I wouldn't blame Levy at all for taking that stance.
