Used to love Eriksen - he's become an absolute weight around our necks since he started this sulking protest though. His passing is abysmal all of a sudden, he strolls about making zero effort and looks like he can't be arsed to be there. I get that he wanted to go in the summer but they didn't even make an offer for us to turn down, so why his sulk is our burden I have no idea and the sense behind "if I stop trying and play like an arsehole they'll want me more!" - Surely you'd play even better, try even harder, if you wanted to tip the balance of opinion at another club?

Needs to be dropped - Ndombele and Winks work so hard it must be soul destroying to see every effort die at the feet of someone who we know has skills but just can't be arsed to show it anymore.

I posted in the match thread - the fact that he has had to be dropped for this match means we're weaker in the middle, if he plays he can't be arsed, so we're weaker in the middle. He is affecting our entire squad more than Poch is both on and off the pitch so we need him out of the team for a while, see if we can get someone else settled into the role and remove this reliance we have on him.

I should've clarified that in my first post in both instances, but I got in and had a beer and got fed up with the sound of my keyboard, so packed it in and got another one and now this typing business is actually getting pretty hard and i'm having to go back and correct spelling mistakes every few words, so... yeah.

Eriksen needs to go have a holiday for a while. And I need a pee.

Winks and Sissoko in the middle isn’t the answer. Not sure Ndombele is either, seeing as he looks shockingly off the PL pace.

Eriksen needs a League 2 loan until his contract is up, or better still, send him to Celtic or Rangers.

The more I think about it the more I think Eriksen is just an unprofessional absolute disgrace tbh.

He's always had a weak mentality but did have a season and a half or so when he was immense for us, but now he just can't be bothered.

And that is disgraceful as he has the talent, which is why more is expected of him as a player like him should be making the team tick.

It's not our fault Real Madrid didn't want him in the summer and the way he's been stinking out the place I doubt they'll be changing their mind soon.

Unless he pulls his finger out for us I hope his career shits out really.

Elaborate?

You don’t think his performances have been a disgrace and are disputing he has a weak mentality?

Eriksen has always been a hot topic in this forum with people on both sides of fence, but aside from a period where he was consistently the player he should be he’s been inconsistent and gone missing a lot.

For someone of his talent he should be doing a lot better.

Agree his performances has not been good. But really none in our team has been good this year.

But your post is out of line.. Just because his contract is running out, and he wants to try something new. That is really ALL he has ever said regards his situation. All other stuff you make up or read in the media, is just that. He has in no way been unprofessional at all.

Why is it out of line?

I have absolutely no issue with him running down his contract, that is his right, but I do have issue with his piss poor performances. Even Modric in his last season (having tried to force his way out over summer to Chelsea) put in his best season for us.

He’s supposed to be one of the best play makers around and should be inspiring the players around him whilst he still plays for us.

Instead he has downed tools.

And yes I know so have a lot of others but he is supposed to be one of our best players.

But this is an Eriksen thread so I’ll pen my thoughts about him in here and comment on others in other threads. ;-)

@WhiteDane is one of Eriksen's staunchest supporters on here, going as far as to say that he (Eriksen) wouldn't be getting so much criticism if he was British.

Just preparing you for the battle you're about to enter!

Lol he’d still get same stick to me whatever his nationality is.

Nationality shouldn’t come into, we support the team.

Heard a Podcast that suggested that his failure to get the move to Real or Barca may have left him feeling depressed - hence the not so good form for club and now country.

If that were the case, would it change anyone's perception of the situation?

No. There's a difference between feeling depressed and suffering from depression.

Have to say if Eriksen was setting the world alight and dragging us through match after match the fans would be singing his name and at seasons end would be devastated at his leaving but would absolutely wish him well.
He is however not really doing that, may impact his future way more than expected.

I doubt the podcast knows the ins and outs of his mental state.

I have little doubt that he is feeling down at no top club coming in for him.

But as I am not in the group of people pissed with Eriksen I have no reason to change my mind.

Eriksen is a class player on his day. Unfortunately for us he wants out and now he's a shadow.
I wish him all the best his been a credit but he really should be taken away from the squad until gone.
