He is not just one of our most creative players, even over the 18 months you have stated he has still been by far the most creative in squad.

You just need to look at the assist stats amongst plenty of other things, and put away personal feelings because he won't sign a new contract.
That is the problem, we need him, more than he needs us.

yes he was joint 3rd in the league last season for assists and chipped in with 8 goals. This season the whole team has gone to shit except 1 or 2 players. Something is very wrong and its bigger than just eriksen wanting to leave.

Some not very credible news sources are claiming we have offered him a contract worth 5+M per year. Find that very hard to believe.

I also find it hard to believe that the likes of Juve, Real or Bayern are going to pay him what he thinks he’s worth. The way he has played and behaved over the last six months is a huge red flag. Especially for a player expecting to make similar money to Aaron Ramsey. He’s in for a very rude awakening methinks.

Received a little knock after 20 minutes and looked a bit uncomfortable, but finished the half so he is probably fine. Weak opponent obviously but he did play well.

I would be willing to bet good money he goes on to make a really good wage (better or same that we are offering) at one of the top clubs in the world.

We're not in a position imo to bench one of our best creative players.

Out of the matchday squad and training with the kids for me. He should have gone in the summer but I suspect he was advised to wait for the payday. If he is going to mess us around and not bother then we should respond in kind.

I find it very funny how Eriksen is being compared to Ramsey. This was obviously started by an Arsenal supporter pundit and people have ran with it.

Ramsey was forever injured and left because Arsenal wouldn't give him Ozil money.

Ramsey also played like he cared until the end. Eriksen, on the other hand, hasnt since January

Thing is with Eriksen whether or not his contract is running down, his performances really have not been good enough to seemingly be a automatic starter. Perhaps if LoCelso was available he would not be. CE has been dropped and used more sparingly I suppose in some matches but we are kind of hampered with the lack of bodies at this time to take his place in the squad.
Would be interesting to see how CE would repond if not picked from now to January (or seasons end) is say LoCelso/Alli/whoever took his spot in the matchday squad.

I think Eriksen has a problem. There are key performances that should have been indicators of his unhappiness or not.One of them is the CL final. The game was in the City of his love and yet he couldn't muster too much. There have been a bunch of key games that he could have risen to that would say that his problem was Tottenham and not him. But it is him. I really think he has a problem with the way he thinks about himself. He does play well for Denmark because its safe territory. If he went to Madrid and couldn't get his confidence up it would be an absolute disaster for him.

Lother Matthaus having a little dig at Eriksen here. Not good enough for Munich.

Sad to hear this sort of shit. While he's clearly a bit off the boil, at his peak he was easily one of the midfielders in the league and Europe at his role. The spark is missing at the mo, granted, but that's a crock from a former pro.

I believe that.I think what he means by slow is his style of prodding about not his running, though he isnt the fastest.
He actually looks quickest when he is close to goal an an opportunity happens.
His slowness of working the ball around sometimes pays off but often it just makes defenses cover easier.

He's was, when on form, an outstanding player for us. However, I don't think he's good enough and is certainly not a big enough star for Real Madrid to be overly bothered about him. Sounds to me like he tried to get a move there over the summer but they weren't interested. Maybe they would be interested next year when he's free, but I still can't imagine him being their number 1 target. Either Bayern or Juve theoretically makes more sense that one of the big Spanish clubs, but even then I don't really think either of them need him, and if Mathaeus' comments are true it doesn't sound like Bayern are interested anyway.

I think he'll leave in January or the summer but I'd be surprised if it's the dream move he had in mind.
