Lolmao if anybody else had created that second goal people in here would have creamed their pants, but because it’s Eriksen no one even mentions it. Eriksen has reached the point where his bad performances now negates everything good he does.

I thought he looked superb up until the sending off.

Interesting that his best football for the club came when he played behind Kane in Poch's first season.

The assist was sublime, its tough to really gauge anyones performances after the sending off.

Don't agree there. He's best tucked in on the right for me. The cross he made to Kane that led to the first goal is something that he can do regularly that very few in World can do (De Bruyne is the only player better at it), but for the last season and this one he's rarely been put in that position. He's either been too deep in a diamond, on the left or behind the striker. He's too weak and can't protect the ball enough to ball in the No.10 role and isn't good with his back to goal.

Don't agree at all that was his best season. He's played well every where behind Kane, but do agree thats where I'd prefer him. He won player of the season in 16/17.

He was playing off Kane as a second striker/free role in those early Poch days. It's easy to forget how good we were in attack back then, although we lacked a bit of pace at the time.

I thought he was greatly improved today, still not anywhere near his best but a lot better than the last few games. I thought he did his job well in the 2nd half in terms of helping his fullback with his discipline and making sure he met his man. Few sloppy things like the corner with Lamela and a few times could have done better to reach for a ball but as I say great improvement today and he worked hard for the team.

He is useless under pressure. How many times did he lose the ball under pressure in midfield today again? Probably close to 10 times. It's been like that for ages. He is so scared of any sort of challenge in order not to risk his dream move away due to injury that he just gives the ball up without a sliver of fight. He is still great when he is facing forward with time to pick a pass. However, that is not good enough.

Thank eff we had Ndombele on today who can not only hold on to the ball, but also shield/dribble away from pressure.

Ndombele lost the ball several times today in midfield trying to dribble out of pressure.

You all are just seeing what you want to.

Our first season we weren't the best. It wasn't until we moved Alli behind Kane that we started to start looking like a top four regular. I think as well as Eriksen not playing in his best position, he's missed Alli's absence the most.

Huh?
Statistically you are wrong. Feel free to look it up.

A lot of comparing to prior seasons also is tricky because a) teams in general respect us a lot more now leaving much less space and b) Our expectations are much higher - go back to Eriksen threads 3 years ago and people were still complaining about him in the tackle, inconsistency etc

In fact Eriksen consistency has been a question mark his whole career and is partly why we were able to sign him in the first place

Yes he did lose it a few times but Eriksen lost it pretty much every time when under pressure and prerry much every 50/50 for the past 9 months.

Ndombele created numerous freekicks from actually holding onto the ball and trying to do something positive with it while under pressure. When does Eriksen do that?

You can't say he lost the ball 10 times and then say you don't concern yourself with stats....

I honestly don't care but then go and watch the game again.... Either way you are talking rubbish.

How are those stats counted? Do you know? No, Every time today when he was under any sort of pressure he lost the ball. Maybe the stats counts some of those as 50/50 duels and not as lost possession, even though he clearly lost possession. Ever think of that?

Right back at you with the rubbish talk. Stats are completely useless without any context.

Way to dismiss a pretty exact science that goes in to football statistics. Again, feel free to look it up. I suppose you also believe the earth is flat and that climate change is made up despite the scientific evidence - because what you feel is more accurate.....

He was dispossessed twice. While on the ball. Without it being during a dribble. He didn't lose the ball once while dribbling. His pass succes rate was roughly 82 so however you flip it, turn it, or take your context in to question he just didn't lose/give away the ball as much as you seen to believe. I am pretty sure you will now say 'yeah but that's what I saw' - so I have likely just wasted my time. So be it.
