Tell you what, Eriksen hasn't got a hope in hell of getting in the Madrid team when Ødegaard is pulling shit like this off:

He is tearing up La Liga atm, a lot claiming he's been the stand out player, he's out on loan back at Madrid next season. I don't see why they'd take Eriksen on when they have this to look forward to.

There's a recurring theme in the team for Southampton thread. No Eriksen.

For the bulk of his career he's been undroppable, now I don't even want him in the squad. What a sorry state of affairs and a sad ending to what should be a career fondly remembered by our fans.

We need to just move on from him and right now. Even if it means we continue to suffer in the short term, we need to just figure out how to play well without him and integrate Lo Celso as soon as he's back.

I hate the fact we have to rely on Mr. 69%. I’d shuffle him off to the under 23’s if I was coach. But i’m not which means another underwhelming Mr Invisible impression. Perhaps he’ll reprise his CL performance where he stands around with a pained look on his face while a worldie (I know I’m exaggerating) like Henderson runs circles around him. Southampton probably licking their chops for this one. ZZ also probably charting a plane over to have a look as well. He’ll have him for the price of a bottle of Gron Tuborg and a plate of fried pork with parsley sauce and potatoes at the end of the season. And we’ll be left with memories of lots of semi finals. Fuck me dead. Life is cruel.

We absolutely need to move on from him and we should do what United did with Sanchez, sideline him until we can offload him.

The thing is, I find it quite bizarre why people are now getting on his back but didn’t last season? He was awful for the whole of last season. He scored some good goals, but it didn’t gloss over his terrible individual performances in my eyes.

He’s been in this form for at least one year now.

So I’m not surprised at all at how he is playing this season. Time to show no player is bigger than the club and let him rot on the bench. He’s got a weak mentality, a player who never turns up in the biggest games anyway.

He will probably play at a higher level than he is now when he gets his move to a new club but he will still never be good enough to be a regular starter at Madrid.

Should try a £50m + Eriksen bid in the winter to see if they could be tempted. If they need to strenghten for this season it could be a deal to be made.

Now we understand why Poch was reluctant to play him at the start of the season. His head has been gone for a long time.

I think he'll end up at Juve or PSG. If Madrid are no longer interested then I imagine one of them will be. And if they aren't he'll look back with regret on how he played himself out of a dream move.

Eriksen is a free agent in the Summer. We can't charge a bean for him because he's no longer our player. He can negotiate a deal with any club in January and there's nothing we can do to stop it happening. No way RM let I
Odegaard go either IMO.

Real Madrid might need and want to strenghten in january, while Ødegaard is tied to Real Sociedad until the summer.
Think Eriksen would be careful about turning down Real Madrid, just to fill his pockets. He want to move to one of the spanish giants, not get a bosman deal at PSG or Juventus. There's also fair play issues with Real Madrid that could tempt them to accept a deal.
Probably won't work, but I'd give it a go, even if it would have been more likely to succeed the summer that was.

IMO, he'll wait to go to RM on a Bosman, always assuming they're not stringing him along (which is quite possible). I think he'll sign a deal in January at which point we should kick him to the curb and look to the future.

(Just wrote this on the front page thread but belongs here)

As shit as he's been, we shouldn't completely write off Eriksen this season. He's never been a bag egg and his bad form is far from an Adebayor-esque downing of tools. Given he'll almost certainly be here until the summer and he'll want to put himself in the shop window, we should try to get this best out of him as he could easily be the difference between us finishing 4th and finishing 5th.

I think he just needs to be dropped for a while, especially when Lo Celso is available, so he's forced to fight his way back into the side. If we want top 4 I don't think we really have the luxury of permenantly dropping our best players (unless he really is poisonous in the dressing room which I find hard to believe).

I'm gonna try and give Eriksen a clean slate from here on out, I've been pretty angry at the last few performances but I'm trying to look at it from his perspective and I'm not set on it being a downing of tools but instead a huge devoid of confidence. I think he deserves to be dropped but clean slate him here and I hope whether he leaves in Jan or the summer that from now until that point he just works hard for the team and tries to get back to his best. All parties would benefit from that happening.

He may not be playing at his best and everyone hates him right now but he still offers us our best chance of creating chances.
