Let's hope Juventus want him so we can do a deal in January where they can take him off our hands early if they knock a few quid off the Dybala price.

I don't see why anyone would do anything other than wait to get him on a free in the summer sadly

Juve might, but they'd only pay about 10/15m I reckon. Sad state of affairs. A very inglorious end to one of the most talented players I've seen in a Spurs shirt

The Eriksen fan club is just loyally blinkered

Historically he has been one of our best players. I don't see the point in disputing that.

That said, past performances shouldn't count because we live in the present. He has been a shadow of his former self and right now he should be dropped. Pochettino often talks about the importance of mentality and motivation in training and so forth but it annoys me that some players seem to be undroppable. This is a wider problem than just Eriksen. Kane have played in matches he shouldn't even had been on the bench in.

I'm an Eriksen fan boy but right now I can't wait for GLC and Sessegnon to get fit so we can build a new core and move on.

We should all be Eriksen fan boys or whatever that is meant to be

Absolutely cringe at that fan boy statement by the way, it's something generally that kids would say.

That's the idea. (First time I have actually used it)!

The perplexing thing is Eriksen says he needs to move to get a new challenge

I think part of it is that he's got too comfortable here. He just walks into the team. When you start to feel like that you can often start to coast a bit. It's not even a conscious decision, but it can have a big impact on performance. Last nights performance was probably his worst for the club so it will be interesting to see how the manager reacts.

I think that even the most ardent Eriksen supporters must admit that he's been nowhere near his best, for quite a while now.
He needs a bit of time out to think about where he wants to go from here.

No, not even kids call themselves fan boys, they accuse other of being one. Anything else would be utterly stupid, unless you're doing it on purpose. ;)

It was all tongue in cheek mate. Just the ol' "Adopte the pejorative you're being called to highlight its irrelevance"-strategy.

Problem is i dont think many of our players are anywhere near their best, Kane included.

Yeah and that is a worry. Kane has come back looking leaner and meaner than ever before but somehow, seems to be doing less running and pressing.
I can only think that it's a motivational issue and if so, that's on Poch.
We need to resolve this shit pronto.

That wasn't actually aimed at you I agree with your sentiments, it was aimed at those who think that Eriksen has a fan club and all that crap.

He might well have a fan club, I'm pretty sure Sonny does! ;)

Appallingly bad last night. Needs leaving out and taking a long hard look at himself - how good he can be and how good he currently isn't.

The club had agreed terms with Tottenham's Christian Eriksen and Ajax's Donny van de Beek, but Zidane stopped the moves because Pogba was the midfielder he wanted.

I understand if he wants to challenge himself at one of the established European giants, but his whole mentality, demeanour and performances of late suggest he’ll never cut it at that level.

You have to believe you are the very best and play with assured arrogance to excel at the likes of Barca and Juve. Eriksen, with his moping around and almost self pitying way is showing he’s mentally weak imo. An elite level player still does the business no matter what’s going on off the field

He may have been our best player for years but life and football does not progress by living in the past, he just does not really warrant a place in the team at the moment.
Loved him and will miss the Eriksen we had, the one that scored free kicks etc. But it appears that model has since long departed, would rather him not in the starting line up f from now on, let's blood a player that will be here next season.
We may be alienating players that will be here next season and beyond by letting him and his now all too frequent poor displays continue.

I think it all depends how much he wants to play for Real Madrid. I think he'd happily take £200k per week to play for a team who apparently are the only team he wants to play for. If he starts asking for £400k per week (like Ramsay), I think he's pricing himself out of a move. No way Real will pay £400k per week based on his performances over the last few months.
yes but even 200k is 50-60 million pounds and some type of signing bonus and agent fees.
People assume Real would pay that but if he has a crap season I am not sure why they would - he'd have no sell on fee nor would he be easy to move on that type of contract.
