With Ornstein saying we are getting Lo Celso on loan with buy next summer, it fits with the goat info.

I'd say it does help that he bottles tackles though..
Sure, but considering how injury prone the rest of our squad is I'm fine with our quintessential #10 playmaker who knits our team together not charging in and getting hurt.

I wouldn't mind if Kane took an Eriksen approach in the future.

He will most likely leave after the PL window closes. The Pogba rumours have fizzled out so RM might see Eriksen on a cut deal as tempting.

Find the changing narrative on Eriksen interesting obviously for past couple of weeks been extremely negative leaks about him from the club. But with news he has apparently stuck to gentleman’s agreement he has with Daniel Levy about not signing for another premier league club makes you think he is more likely to stay being that it’s more positive and news in theory we fans should like as shows in a way he is being loyal to the club and sticking to his word.

It would be annoying to lose him on a free transfer as that’s an £75 million + asset lost. But if he is fully prepared to commit and play well for final season then wouldn’t be disappointed if he stayed

The amount of build up and then nothing makes me think he has already agreed to go somewhere but everyone is keeping quiet till after the window shuts. No coincidence that as soon as everyone stopped talking about Eriksen we suddenly started trying to sign every attacking midfielder in Europe.

Well he’s obviously going to either a foreign team before the end of their window for a fee (which I suspect will be our preferred option) or he stays for the last 12 months (which will probably annoy the manager unless the player knuckles down and contributes). I think the latter will be very difficult for him, especially to be accepted by the fans.

You’d think we would definitely be trying to push him out if we get out targets in today.

I am pretty shocked by some of the negative comments on here about our most important player of recent years. Eriksen was run to the ground last season. So he pulls out of tackles which could injure him - bloody fantastic I say! If he didn't we would'nt be finishing top 4 or reaching a CL final - Kane, take note! It doesn't mean he doesn't work his arse off for the team or get very much stuck in.

Some people need to take a better look at what Eriksen does for this team. We all know that he is the number one assist maker in the PL over the last 5 years, even if he was only third last season with Hazard taking top spot. Hazard scores more goals, but Eriksen scores plenty and they tend to be bloody important ones too. But the bigger picture is that Hazard would struggle to play for Pochettino because he is only putting in a fraction of the effort Eriksen does, time and time again.

He may have the good sense to pull out of tackles which might seriously injure him, but it doesn't stop him making countless important tackles and interceptions because he reads the game so well and frankly runs his arse off. I exaggerate of course, you can count them - he made 41 successful tackles last season in the league, compared to Hazard's 14 (or Ozil's 20). He is always in the top percentile for distance covered and one of our most ardent pressers a la Poch. His total contribution to the team puts Hazard and Ozil to shame.

Since he joined us, if there was one player whose absence spelt trouble it was Christian. But sure let's want him out because he had the sheer audacity to suggest that after six seasons of brilliant service to the club he wants to try a new challenge and lifestyle abroad (besides new shiny players who haven't proved themselves in the PL are of course much better).

He has been the consummate professional throughout and he has never thrown his toys around or disrespected the club in any way, but let's get rid of the scoundrel now in case he jeopardises a new toy for us.

If a player chooses to refuse to sign a new contract and play a number of years earning a pittance compared to what he deserves, all to ensure that he keeps control of when he moves on, how can this be criticised? For me, if he signed better terms one year and then kicks up a fuss when we won't let him leave in the next window, that can and should be criticised. See Zaha last season. Eriksen, though, has been completely honest and respectful throughout.

If you want to compare european finals and how Hazard stepped up and Eriksen looked flat, perhaps you want to consider the work rate the two players showed over the season to get their teams there. Hazard is mercurial, I agree, but also a lazy bastard (does anyone think Christian would turn up at Madrid a stone overweight?). Eriksen had been forced to carry this team over a long gruelling season where he couldn't be rested but still out-ran and out-worked the vast majority of his team mates. He had run out of gas by the end, and it hurt him more than any of us.

Eriksen couldn't get a rest all season, by contrast Hazard regularly took them even during matches.

And of course Eriksen is bloody upset right now because he really deserves his dream move, and anyone who understands football and actually looks at his stats compared to Hazard and Ozil should appreciate that. I feel for him, I really do. But should he stay and actually finally be given some competition for his place (and more importantly a rest from time to time) everything this player has ever done, week in, week out, for years, suggests he will keep giving his all for this team. Whether he signs a new deal or not.

I will be delighted for every additional season we get from a player that is already deserving of legendary status, and frankly deserves a lot more respect and appreciation.

Yeah that's fine, he's been arguably the most talented, important member of the squad since his arrival. But above all - we can't allow him to leave on a free. We can't be too sentimental about this.

Do we let him leave if we only get GLC? That's really the question I want answered. If not, I do hope he signs a new deal.

Levy will no doubt do everything in his power to flog Eriksen but unless Madrid come in for him I reckon he'll stick around.

If that's the case we'll have a very strong squad this season but will need some serious surgery next summer to replace Eriksen, Toby and buy a RB. We gotta pray Jan signs a 1 year extension, though at his age he might be looking for one last payoff in China or somewhere.

I'm still very surprised by Eriksen. If he wants to leave us then fine, he cost us very little and we've more than had our money's worth from him.

His long-time ambition has been to play for either of the Spanish giants which again is fair enough, I grew up watching Raul banging in goals for fun and loved RM as a foreign team but things are not the same anymore.

How can Eriksen look at RM and the way Bale is being treated, or Barca and how Coutinho has been whored around and think hmm that's the place for me?

Yes he might get the chance to play with top tier talent, but at what cost? Thrown away by these mercenary giants when they find he isn't as new and shiny as the latest Brazilian wunderkind, or ignored by the majority of the team because he doesn't have the huge ego and self obsessed way of life as they do.

So I guess it's just for the weather and the money!

I wonder what will happen with him now.

I've been of the opinion I don't want him around if his head has gone but GLC may not be enough to really challenge.

GLC isn’t even the same type of player is he?

Eriksen’s replacement was surely Fernandes, Dybala or Coutinho

Has to stay now until Jan if we replace him then
I have a feeling if we sign Lo Celso and Sessegnon that he might be tempted to sign a new contract. He must surely know we have a brilliant squad if he does. It'd be a vast improvement on last season with him still here.

He could easily sign a new contract with say even a £40M buyout clause to the club of his choice, he could do that and the clubs would still take that option if they wanted him enough. Truth is he is following the cash the likes of Ramsey and Rabiot have gotten and wants some. Some fans will say how great he has been etc, etc. Il thank him for his time and his effort in time he was with us, but not much more than that.
