Quite possibly he didn't.
More than likely the club were trying to flog him and approached Man Utd, rather than any hint from Eriksen's agent.
Well that doesn't make sense either. "Ok Daniel, I see you're trying to sell me to an English club but I made a promise to you that I'd not go to another English club so I'm going to knock this one on the head".

It would also help Spurs and CE get a sense of his value to other clubs. For example, if MU come in at 80M, CE can't really complain if RM comes in at 40M and we reject that.

I think Eriksen does not fit the Zidane model of generally forthright characters. Eriksen is like Bale a more quiet type who just gets on with his game. Eriksen we have always k Ken wanted to get to one of the big two in Spain. Maybe now he realise they would only take him as a makeweight squad player. He is better than that so maybe he is coming to terms with that and preppy commit to a team that with investment have shown can compel with the best.
Modric wasn’t a ball of fire but still was very successful at Real.

On severely reduced terms as, with the signings of Lo Celso and Dybala, he's now just a squad player...

Nah, he's still a top top player. We'd be asking for £150m + if he had 3-5 years on his contract.

One of the best assist makers in one of the toughest leagues in the world, yeah he's not been on it for 6 months but if he signs and then we have real competition for places and we'll fly

It looks as though Eriksen stays, which is not my preferred option. But he has shot himself in the foot now, holding out for a massive move and burning his bridges with the club who gave him the platform to grow, to thrive and to win the biggest trophy in world football, in which he personally did not show up even slightly on the night (one thing that has scuppered his move imo)...

The best hope is we get some sort of agreement in place where he puts pen to paper on a 1/2 year extension and earn his spot back in the team....

Reminds me of Modric when we denied his move to Chelsea, he got his head down, played his ass off and had the best season of his career, subsequently earning a move to the biggest club in the world....

CE needs to realise the big boys won’t come sniffing if he doesn’t put the work in..

So Christian. Grow the fuck up, play hard, work for the team. And maybe, just maybe, you can earn your dream move....

He can’t leave on a free. It would be a disaster. And who knows what he’s be like in the coming season.

Worrying
