It's interesting that it's come up as soon as Marca say Madrid accept they're not getting pogba.

The Marca report also said Madrid are really struggling to shift players at decent prices and as such they might have to stick with what they have (yes even Madrid have to balance the books a bit).

There was a piece in the independent saying similar yesterday, in fact suggesting Perez expected to get a big fee for Bale to bankroll this summer (hahahaha), and now he can't he's pushing for Zidane to give him another chance.

I wonder if Ceballos refusing to be part-ex for Eriksen killed RMs hope of a deal.

Small delusional part of me is hopeful we can benefit from Barca/Madrid needing to offload players, I know we were keen on Asensio so maybe if they get desperate we can make something happen but as I say, I'm being delusional. I'll happy if Eriksen stays put though but we need to add the Lo Celso layer to compete on all fronts.

Eriksen always played better when dembele was playing, not sure the reasoning behind it just seemed that way to me??

It's because Dembele usually would take two players out of the game and Eriksen was intelligent enough to find the space that challenging player would leave.

I think most would always have been happy with keeping him providing he signed a new deal. There's no denying there's times last season where he looked like he wasn't interested so if he commits to us and gives 100% then he'll hopefully return to the levels we all know he's capable of.

There's also the fact that we've sold Tripps and trying to sell Rose so we're already looking at a minimum 2/3 new personnel in the XI and we don't want to change too much at the same time.

Has a player ever publicly stated he wants a new challenge before going on to sign a new contract a few weeks later?

I’m sure it has happened before, but it seems like such a weird move for Eriksen. If he wants a new challenge then why would he sign a new contract?

In a way it's quite refreshing, he's been very open about moving to only Real or Barca but also understands that if those moves don't happen then he's in the best place to stay at Spurs. He's not throwing his toys out of the pram a la Berbs and Bale lol
I certainly don't begrudge him a move if it materialises - but having him stay would of course just be awesome.

However, players can't simply assume they can get the move of their dreams based on past performances.
Surely he has to realise he's constantly in the shop window and needs to remain consistent - hell, he should be the standout player every game.
Imagine if he'd blitzed the end of last season and capped it off with a match winning performance in the CL Final - do you think Zidane would still be coo'ing over Pogba?

IF he still wants his move (next season), i just want him to step up and perform like we all know he can - if he wants a new challenge, he needs to challenge himself first!

This would be very good news. Hope he puts pen to paper soon. IF it still allows us to bring in GLC, even better but Eriksen staying would make that a luxury.

If we bring in Lo Celso for £50-60m on top of Eriksen staying then the future is bright for sure. Maybe the talk of Poch having to work magic at full back with Rose and Tripps leaving is the alternative way of funding this.

Didn't Ronaldo make a fuss about not being happy every summer when he was at Madrid? Also Rooney, Gerrard, Zaha, etc.

At first i was thinking the same but doesnt he only pop up when something is about to happen?

He/She posts ITK just before it happens, but also posts non-ITK stuff from time to time.

Yes, usually. But he explicitly says it's not info but people on this site find it difficult to grasp the concept that someone who has had info can post something that is opinion.

Ndombele and Sissoko "behind" Eriksen will not give him any better platform than playing in front of Winks and Sissoko.

Signing another creative player like Lo Celso would free up Eriksen as all the pressure would no longer be on him. At thr same time it's harder for a defense to mark 2 players. Similar to how City operate with Silva/KdB.
What about Winks and Ndombele...
