When you read a couple of first pages people seemed to be rather underwhelmed about this transfer... Now its only three weeks later and everybody is happy. Huh?

I always thought he looked like what we were lacking a big physical focal point that's still mobile. But I think you can put peoples change in optimism about him down to the loan and also with each passing day a last minute dive for Deeney was starting to loom larger and larger in everyone's mind. This lad is peak R9 compared to that.

Well we signed Bale a week after those first few pages so I imagine that has a lot to do with it along with this being a loan and so de-risking the investment if he doesn't work out.

I should have noted tho... while it sucks, it is the best decision I ever made. it also led me back to a young girl I once met at university 20 years ago. It was love at first sight, but we were both dating other people at the time. It was a fleeting moment, that I never forgot and nor did she. 4 years ago we started chatting again. She living in Lincoln working for the bbc and me in Seattle. One year later I proposed to her in Lincoln cathedral. I had to wait 20 yrs and go through a prickly divorce, but thru it I found and reconnected with my soul mate. And the split also bought my son and I very close. We also share a special bond that wouldnot have been possible if I had stayed in that toxic situation.
